Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

The wall and floor have repeatedly separated from the chassis to the point light shows between the wall and floor and the dash moves up and down uncontrollably. Fleetwood did attempt to repair the problem under warranty, but the fix was inadequate, and the problem continues to surface. As of now the visible wall separation extends from the passenger-side front end to behind the door and may go much further back and I am concerned that the body may completely separate from the chassis when in transit.

THE SEPARATION IS VISIBLE FROM UNDERNEATH THE MOTOR HOME AS WELL AS FROM THE COCKPIT PASSENGER SEATING AREA WHERE THE ROAD IS VISIBLE WHILE DRIVING. 2) THE DASHBOARD HAS DETA…

AUTOMATIC PARKING BRAKE FAILURE--BRAKE ENGAGED WHILE MOTORHOME IN MOTION, CAUSING BRAKE PADS AND DRUM TO SEVERLY OVERHEAT, RUINING COMPONENTS AND MAKING PARKING BRAKE INOPERATIVE. APPARENTLY, A PRESSURE SENSING SWITCH BEGAN LEAKING FLUID, WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKES TO ENGAGE WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. AT THE FIRST AVAILABLE GM DEALERSHIP, THEY DIAGNOSED THE FAILED PRESSURE SWITCH, BUT WERE UNABLE TO REPLACE IT. THEY DISCONNECTED THE PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM, BUT TOLD MY WIFE THAT THE UNIT WAS SAFE TO OPERATE, THAT THE TRANSMISSION …

VEHICLE: 2001 FLEETWOOD STORM MODEL 30H MOTORHOME CHASSIS: 2000 WORKHORSE P32 INCIDENT:BRAKES OVERHEATED FOR NO REASON AND I EXPERIENCED A TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKING ABILITY FROM THE BRAKE SYSTEM. WHILE DRIVING FROM YOSEMITE VALLEY TO FRESNO CA., ON A COLD MORNING, WITH SNOW ON THE GROUND, I STARTED TO SMELL WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE OVERHEATING BRAKES. SINCE WE WERE GOING MOSTLY DOWNHILL, I WAS ALREADY DRIVING CAUTIOUSLY IN SECOND GEAR. I THEN SHIFTED DOWN INTO FIRST GEAR AND WAS GOING SO SLOW THAT THE BRAKES WERE HARDLY NEEDED AT ALL. THAT SEEMED T…

ON THE DATE OF THIS INCIDENT, WE HAD JUST PURCHASED THE MOTORHOME JUST A WEEK BEFORE. DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH ON A VERY BUSY FOUR LANE ROADWAY, JUST FOUR MILES FROM HOME, THE MOTORHOME ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF COMPLETELY WITHOUT WARNING. VERY SCARY, SINCE I WAS UNABLE TO STEER OR BRAKE. NOTHING I COULD DO BUT LET THE MOTORHOME COAST, AND THEN IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AS IT APPROACHED A SLIGHT INCLINE IN THE ROADWAY. ENGINE WOULD NOT START AND NONE OF THE WARNING LAMPS, GAUGES, ETC. WORKED. TRAFFIC WAS BLOCKED FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS BEFORE…
