Without warning my brakes and steering failed on a Freedom Elite RV on a Ford Motor chassis. The vehicle only had 2396 miles on it at the time of occurrence. It turned out to be a pressure hose that broke. Luckily I was in a residential neighborhood with no traffic and driving very slowly when it happened. I shudder to think what would have happened on a hill or in traffic.

THIS VEHICLE HAS A 12,500 GVWR. WE RECENTLY HAD THIS AT A FORD DEALER FOR A BROKEN LEFT REAR SUSPENSION. THE DEALER WEIGHED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THE TARE WEIGHT TO BE 11,200 LBS. THIS IS A CLASS-C MOTORHOME AND IT WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY OF ANY AND ALL CARGO, NO LIQUIDS, WHICH IS CAPABLE OF CARRYING 40 GALLONS OF WATER AT 8.3 GALLONS PER POUND. THERE WAS LESS THAN 1/4 OF A TANK OF FUEL, OF A 55 GALLON TANK AND THE MANUFACTURER STATES THAT THIS IS A 4 PASSENGER VEHICLE. WITH THE MATH WE HAVE DONE, OF 40 GALLONS OF WATER AT 333.60 LBS A…

I PURCHASED A TOTAL OF 7 MICHELIN LTX M/S TIRES LT225/75R16 E FOR MY MINI MOTORHOME. THEY ARE DRY-ROTTING RIGHT OFF THE RIMS. THIS IS AN ESTABLISHED PROBLEM. WHEN I WAS DIRECTED TO A DEALER (FORREST TIRE OF ARTESIA, NM) I WAS OFFERED A DISCOUNT ON BUYING MORE TIRES. I WAS EXTREMELY DISMAYED THAT MICHELIN WAS QUERYING THE TIRE DEALER ABOUT THE MAKE, MODEL, YEAR AND MILEAGE OF MY MOTORHOME! WHAT HAS THAT GOT TO DO WITH DEFECTIVE/DANGEROUS TIRES? I SPOKE WITH A MAN WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH LTX M/S TIRES THAT CAME ON HIS NEW PICKUP AND TH…

FORD DEALER REMOVED HEAD, INSTALLED SPARK PLUG INSERT AND CHARGED ME $1700.00 . I BELIEVE SPARK PLUGS SHOULD NEVER BLOW OUT OF CYLINDER HEAD WHEN INSTALLED BY A FORD TRAINED MECHANIC. THE SPARK PLUG FORD USES HAS ONLY 6 THREADS ON IT. THAT IS NOT ENOUGH THREADS FOR A ALUMINUM HEAD. THIS IS A ENGINE DESIGN ERROR.TS

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
