I know there are issues with the Hybrid versions, but this one is not a hybrid. I have had the battery die 4 separate times resulting in me being stranded due to no fault of my own. This Ford Maverick was purchased through the Military Auto Sales at Ramstein AB Germany. It is US-spec and owned/operated by a US Military member stationed overseas. The first time it happened at the Frankfurt airport after owning it for a week and driving it from the Port of Bremerhaven (port of entry). Mavericks with Integrated Trailer Brake Controllers are not sending any voltage to the trailer brakes when the brake pedal is pressed. Customers are at risk of not having the anticipated additional braking ability of their trailers and will be putting the entire braking load on the truck alone. A Ford dealership had my vehicle for 2 weeks with no repairs done or guidance on when it would be repaired.

Transmission Failure. Following a 550 mile road trip over two days. The transmission would fail to engage in Drive and Reverse until the engine was throttled to 4000-4500RPM. Transmission felt like a Manual with failing clutch, would slip until slowly engaging after running at high RPMs for a few seconds. The condition appeared after the first day of the trip, and was intermittent, occurring only during standing starts. Once the vehicle was moving, there was no problem maintaining speed. I was driving back home from errands and during a stop, the entire car suddenly powered off and became unresponsive. I couldn’t even flash my hazards and was stuck in the middle of a busy intersection. Also couldn’t put it in neutral since the gear shifter is electronically powered. Some bystanders tried to jump my car, but it took 6 solid tries before they could restore power. Driving down road at 45 mph as usual. Car suddenly shudders and as I pull to a stop car is stuck in neutral. Will not receive gas. Suddenly lurches into first gear, almost making me hit who is in front of me. I pull into center lane and the car is frozen and won't move. I restart the car and it stays stuck in first gear revving high. I limp it home given I'm a few minutes away. Could have caused a serious incident.

The 2022 Ford Maverick has a design flaw the harms the environment and places driver and passengers at risk. Specifically the vehicle does not have a metal skid plate which places the Evap System at risk for damage. If the system is damaged the vehicle is still driveable, but doing so allows gas vapors into the environment and worse, possibly into the passenger compartment. Looking under the vehicle, one finds some sort of fabric or mesh material which is definately not robust enough to protect the evap system components from damage. Driving…

In October 2023, we took our 2022 Ford Maverick to a local Ford dealership for a front airbag recall. However, after we picked up our Maverick and we got home we noticed a deep scratch across the top of the dash and the tool from the technician in the console. We contacted the dealership about this scratch. Our Maverick was taken to the dealership in January 2024 for this repair. Upon the completion of installing the dash, the technician scratched the outside of the driver’s side front door causing yet another delay. The Maverick was then take…

Water intrusion on front passenger side of vehicle causing mold. Vehicle still has original windshield and all original carpet and interior. Ford Service department unable to do “leak detection at facility” but referenced several online sources believing it is a defective cowl or a/c part that is not sealed. Service department dried vehicle out for 3-4 days and water intrusion is still happening and mold came back.

I was involved in an accident. During the accident none of the airbags deployed. The impact was so hard that it lifted the truck up off the ground and spinned us around 90 degrees. This resulted in the individuals seated on the passenger side of the truck to be thrown into the door fairly hard, with one passenger hitting her head on the window even with the seatbelt on. The point of impact was the drivers side back tire and bumper area.

I have a 2022 Ford Maverick XL Hybrid and the system that failed is the rear lighting system, specifically the tail lamps, brake lamps, and rear turn signals. This appears to be related to the Body Control Module (BCM) software, which was the subject of Ford Recall 24S27 affecting many 2022–2024 Ford Mavericks. The failure began on my vehicle with the left rear tail lamp assembly (running light, brake light, and turn signal), and within approximately two minutes the right rear tail lamp assembly also stopped functioning. Since that time, the en…

Over the next two days the condition deteriorated to the …

My husband was driving on a highway going 55 mph when the engine light came on and then the car completely shut off and died and would not start.
