There used to be no sufficient clearance between the drivers knee airbag and the brake pedal. I wear steel toe boots for work and my foot just barely fits between the brake pedal and the airbag box. Several times it’s gotten hung up and I had trouble getting to the brake. In a panic situation the could be disastrous. I’ve checked in other model trucks and there is plenty of clearance.

I purchased a new 2024 Ford Ranger yesterday. As I was researching camper shells and truck racks I found that these common items cannot be installed without first installing a load bed reinforcement bracket kit to reinforce the truck bed to the bed side rails. Apparently, nothing can be attached to the side rail which weights more that 88 lbs or the truck bed could separate from the side rails. This is an design/engineering shortcoming from Ford as these are common after market add-ons for mid-sized trucks. Also, Ford is asking customers to pa…

2024 Ford Ranger Trucks made in Michigan between January 4, 2024 to July 15, 2024 do not include the load box reinforcement bracket. Without this bracket installed, if the owner were to place more than 88lbs onto one or both bed side rails the bed could crack, warp, bend, or break. If operators of this vehicle are not aware and do load the bed side rails over 88lbs, this could pose a safety issue to the driver or other drivers on the road around the vehicle. Ford has not notified all owners of affected vehicles, and in my case I found out my…

The lighting on the shift lever that shows what mode the transmission is being selected is missing. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

ON MY 1996 FORD RANGER I HAVE A GAS LEAK WHEN I FILL THE TANK ALL THE WAY UP. IT LEAKS FROM THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK, DOWN THE SIDES, AND ON TO THE GROUND. IT APPEARS THAT THE HOSE GOING INTO THE GAS TANK HAS FAILED. *AK WHAN CONCERNS ME ARE TWO THINGS: FIRST, IF IT GETS ON SOME HOT METAL.....I WILL BE TOAST. NEXT, MY AUTO MECHANICS TOLD ME HE SAW THE SAME PROBLEM ON A 1999 OR 2000 FORD RANGER. SO, I AM WONDERING IF THIS IS BIGGER PROBLEM THAN JUST MY TRUCK.

1) ON THE EVENING OF 11/14/05 I STOP AT A GAS STATION TO FILL UP MY TANK. AFTER I FILLED UP THE TANK I COULD SMELL A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THAT I DIDN'T SPILL ANY WHEN REMOVING THE NOZZLE. I LOOKED UNDER MY CAR AND I COULD SEE A GAS LEAK DRIPPING AT A MODERATE PACE. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED A FRIEND WHO WORKS ON CARS AND HE TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO THE MECHANIC TO AVOID CATCHING FIRE FROM THE FUMES. 2) THE VERY NEXT MORNING I TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME IT WAS PROBABLY A CRACK IN THE FILLER HOSE. HE AL…

ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO (I DON'T RECALL THE EXACT DATE) I HAD TAKEN MY 1996 FORD RANGER XLT INTO NORTH GATE FORD (PORT HURON/FT. GRATIOT, MI) FOR A TRACE ON ELECTRONICS?'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT WAS ON. AFTER THEY HAD PLACED MY TRUCK ON THEIR COMPUTER THEY SAID THAT THEY HAD TO 'DOWNLOAD UPDATES' TO MY TRUCK, WHICH WOULD TAKE SOME TIME (3 BILLED HOURS!). EVER SINCE THEN MY CRUISE CONTROL WOULD 'ACT UP'. IT WILL INCREASE SPEED ABOVE THE SET SPEED BY 5-7 MPH, OCCASIONALLY UP TO 12 MPH, AND THEN THE THROTTLE WOULD RELEASE WITH A THUNK SOUND. USING THE B…
