Just had an oil change at Ford and drove home. Then the next day i took it out and parked it in garage and gas smell again. Smell will last 2-3 days if truck stays parked. There used to be no sufficient clearance between the drivers knee airbag and the brake pedal. I wear steel toe boots for work and my foot just barely fits between the brake pedal and the airbag box. Several times it’s gotten hung up and I had trouble getting to the brake. In a panic situation the could be disastrous. I’ve checked in other model trucks and there is plenty of clearance.

2024 Ford Ranger Trucks made in Michigan between January 4, 2024 to July 15, 2024 do not include the load box reinforcement bracket. Without this bracket installed, if the owner were to place more than 88lbs onto one or both bed side rails the bed could crack, warp, bend, or break. If operators of this vehicle are not aware and do load the bed side rails over 88lbs, this could pose a safety issue to the driver or other drivers on the road around the vehicle. The cooling fan clutch control wire is supported by a "wire support hose" between the engine block and the fan clutch. the cooling fan clutch control freely rotates on a raceway on the drive shaft. The purpose of the support hose is to prevent the fan clutch control from freely rotating, but allows the control a limited range of movement as the drive shaft changes speed with engine RPM. Hood/cowling along the windshield allows water to leak under the hood of the vehicle and wets the coils and plugs causing the engine to mis fire and shutter violently. This engine mis fire and sudden lack of power can cause the vehicle to obstruct the flow of traffic resulting in an accident. Problem was reproduced by the dealer and they replace coils, plugs, and installed an accessory engine cover to prevent the issue in the future. All at my cost. The failed component is a small wheel speed sensor on the rear axle. The sensor is designed in a way where it inserts into the axle and sits close enough to the gears that it can be hit by the gears during bumps/potholes/etc. The issue puts myself and others at risk as when the sensor malfunctions or breaks, it disables multiple safety features of the truck including: Antilock brakes, traction control, power steering, hill assist, and collision avoidance system. Other systems affected include cruise control. The problem has been reproduced wit…

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the power steering assist failed with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact called the dealer and was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The contact was given an estimate for the repair. The contact called an independent mechanic and was also given an estimate for the repair. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to the independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the rack and pinion steering assembly needed to be rep…

Owner, who had bought the truck new approx. 3 1/2 years earlier, had driven about three miles on dry, paved, residential, hilly, roads and was returning to where he was staying when he came upon a waiting line of cars. He turned around to go a different way. Coming to a slight curve the power steering (EPAS) went out. Struggling to make the curve, the power assist kicked in and jolted him off the right side of the road. Had the curve been to the left, the truck may have been thrust into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Owner then slowly soldier…

EXTREME FUEL DILUTION IN THE OIL. LIKELY FROM LEAKING HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. I HAVE ATTACHED THE RESULTS FROM OIL ANALYSIS AT 1860 MILES. THE TEST ONLY INDICATES THAT FUEL DILUTION IS ABOVE 5%, WHICH ITSELF LEADS TO SEVERE OIL DEGRADATION. WHEN I CHANGED THE OIL, I DRAINED 7.5 QUARTS OUT OF AN ENGINE WITH A 6.2 QUART CAPACITY. THIS WOULD INDICATE A 21% FUEL DILUTION, NOT INCLUDING FUEL THAT HAS EVAPORATED FROM THE CRANKCASE AND RETURNED TO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER VIA THE PCV SYSTEM. IF I ABIDED BY THE MANUAL'S RECOMMENDED OIL CHANGE INTERVA…

AFTER APPROXIMATELY EACH 500 MILES THE OIL LEVEL RISES TO, AND THEN ABOVE, THE SAFE MAXIMUM FILL MARKER ON THE DIPSTICK. THE OIL SMELLS STRONGLY OF FUEL. DRIVING INCLUDES SHORT COMMUTES IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS (CA 20 MILES) AND LONGER ROAD TRIPS (CA 400 MILES) THE RISING OIL LEVEL APPEARS TO BE THE RESULT OF FUEL LEAKING INTO THE SYSTEM/CRANK CASE. OVER 4,600 MILES (OF 9,000 TOTAL) THE TRUCK HAS HAD MULTIPLE OIL CHANGES DUE TO THIS ISSUE, BUT WITHOUT RESOLUTION; FUEL SMELL AND RISING OIL LEVEL CONTINUE. SERVICES, INCLUDING OIL CHANGES E…

Drive truck and park in garage and garage smells like gas. Only happens when parking truck in garage right after driving it. This has happened about 3-4 times now. I don't drive it that often. Just had an oil change at Ford and drove home. Then the next day i took it out and parked it in garage and gas smell again. Smell will last 2-3 days if truck stays parked. Have an appt. this coming week at Ford.

I took this vehicle in on 5-19-2020 for recall (19543/NSTSA Recall 19V-839). Local dealership removed skid plate, inspection/pass. Over the next 3 yrs. the p/u was taken in because of battery drainage & then battery replacement. May 2024 it was taken in as all the rear lights stopped working (exactly what was stated in the recall letter would happen). Was told at the time that the topper, which a very reputable dealer put on, did the wiring wrong so I was charged over $1300 for repairing the wiring. The topper was put on in 2019, recall was 202…
