3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
93V140000 · Steering:Hydraulic Power Assist System
Reported: 1993-08-24 (August 24, 1993) · Model years: 1993
POWER STEERING HOSE ASSEMBLIES WERE BUILT WITH INCORRECT END FITTINGS. THESE END FITTINGS WERE RATED AT 1250 PSI WORKING PRESSURE AND THE CORRECT END FITTINGS ARE RATED AT 2000 PSI.
Consequence: THE END FITTINGS COULD FAIL UNDER NORMAL SYSTEM PRESSURE,RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST AND/OR LEAKAGE OF POWER STEERINGFLUID. LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROLWHICH MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. LEAKAGE OF POWER STEERING FLUID MAY RESULT IN AFIRE.
Remedy: REMOVE AND REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE LINE BETWEEN THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND THE STEERING GEAR BOX.
Reported: 1994-01-14 (January 14, 1994) · Model years: 1993
CONTACT MAY OCCUR BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND A HUCK BOLT COLLAR WHICH CAUSES A GEAR WITHIN THE MOTOR TO FRACTURE RESULTING IN COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM.
Consequence: FAILURE OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM REDUCES THE OPERATOR'S ROAD VISION IN INCLEMENT WEATHER AND COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REMOVE AND REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND REMOVE THE HUCK BOLT AND REPLACE IT WITH A PULL-TYPE RIVET.
Reported: 1995-01-23 (January 23, 1995) · Model years: 1994
WASHERS WERE NOT INSTALLED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE RETRACTOR AND OUTBOARD SAFETY BELT ANCHORS. THIS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 207, "SEATING SYSTEMS," AND FMVSS NO. 210, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES."
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL WASHERS AT BOTH LOCATIONS.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
