Owner report 11559985 · 2023-12-13 (December 13, 2023)

The steering wheel will freeze up, and I have to forcibly jerk the wheel to the opposite direction to return directional control. This typically happens at freeway speeds in sweeping right hand turns. This problem has gotten worse over time. Problem not common in left hand turns, or at lower speeds.

Owner report 11563158 · 2024-01-02 (January 2, 2024)

When steering along long curves on the highway and then trying to straighten the steering wheel, the steering wheel will feel stuck and take a bit more force to overcome the position it gets stuck at before being able to be straightened out. Adding this amount of force to overcome the stuck steering wheel causes the car to swerve slightly. This typically is observed on sweeping curves to the right. Appears to follow NHTSA inv #EA23003

Owner report 11470940 · 2022-06-25 (June 25, 2022)

I purchased a new Honda CR-V EXL AWD in Jan 2022 and it has only 1971 miles. Now, the transmission is completely dead with these miles. The dealership informed me that this requires a new transmission which is covered under Honda warranty. The strange thing is that I didn't receive any warning or notification in my dashboard that transmission is getting bad/worse. Luckily, the car was stopped on a residential county road but I can't imagine if the power is getting dropped and stopped on the freeway without any warning. This is one of the bigges…

Unknown- I did receive a letter appears to be from Honda Automobile Division stating a EPS Gearbox Replacement. NHTSA website didn't have any recalls for my 2022 Honda CR-V. Honda dealership didn't appear knowledgeable with the recall and said they haven't had anyone else come in for the repair. Is it a legitimate recall?

Owner report 11572503 · 2024-02-17 (February 17, 2024)

I change my oil about every 3,000 with FULL SYNTHETIC oil. I check the oil level to make sure it isn’t low. I smell a very strong odor of gasoline on the dipstick. I’ve heard Honda has been having a problem with oil dilution. My CRV is very hesitant at times and almost caused me to get into an accident on a few occasions. Something needs to be done about this and the Government needs Honda to issue a recall. Also they’re having an electrical issue. The dash and screen flicker on and off. This is very frustrating especially at night.

BATTERTY ISSUE: November 11, 2023 and February 13, 2024 dead batteries- 2 roadside assistances. November 11, 2023 battery replaced at dealership. February 13, 2024 diagnostics done on battery-not replaced. I am advised to start my car every three days to keep the battery charged-the new technology is draining the battery while the car its shut down and not in use for a period of time. To say this is an inconvenience is putting it mildly. The dealership suggested I buy a battery charger so I can handle this problem on my own.

The speedometer can report zero (0) when the car is moving slowly. This is probably the rounding policy in software. The actual speed was maybe 0.4 mph, but was reported as zero mph. If the actual speed was 10.4 mph but reported as 10, fine, not a big deal, but zero has a much different meaning than any other value. It means none, that the car isn't moving, but the car was.

THE IDLE SPEED FOR THE VEHICLE IS TOO LOW. WITH THE ENGINE WARMED UP, YOU CAN STEP ON THE BRAKE (AS IS TYPICAL AT A RED LIGHT) AND THE CAR WILL VIBRATE A LOT AND THE DRIVER WILL FEEL AN UNCOMFORTABLE VIBRATION. AT TIMES, IT SEEMS LIKE THE ENGINE MIGHT SHUT OFF. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS RELEASED AND THE ENGINE RPM INCREASE A LITTLE BIT, THE VIBRATION STOPS. A QUICK SEARCH ON THE INTERNET WILL REVEAL THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. *TR

VIBRATION AT IDLE IN GEAR. I FOUND THE VIBRATION ON THE SECOND DAY I GOT THE CAR WITH ONLY ABOUT 100 MILES ON IT. IT VIBRATES AT IDLE IN GEAR. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS AT 600-700 RPM. WHEN I TURN ON THE HEATER TO MAX SO IT GOES TO 800 RPM, THE VIBRATION STOPS. BUT ONCE THE HEATER IS OFF AND IT DROPS BACK TO 600-700 RPM, THE VIBRATION COMES BACK. VERY DISAPPOINTED SINCE HONDA JUST CLAIMED THAT THEY FIXED THIS PROBLEM. APPARENTLY NOT TRUE.

I experienced a fuel theft while parked in a hospital parking lot. This vehicle has a fuel filler lid that opens from outside and can be opened by anyone. I came back to the vehicle to find the fuel filler lid open and the gas tank at a lower level than when I parked. I checked and there was no leakage. Fuel filler lids should open from inside vehicles or have a lock on them.

1. Google Maps does not work in AppleCarPlay like it does in the 2025 models. The car speed bounces between certain numbers and the speed seriously lags speed numbers are not bouncing. This is a safety issue because there is not a single navigation application that works on that CarPlay and I then have to rely on my phone again which can be distracting. 2. The fuel economy is much worse than stated in Honda literature. The freeway mpg is not 31 but 26.

My vehicle has had a worsening issue with the steering wheel sticking, especially when driving on winding roads. It is most pronounced when the steering wheel is turned to the left. Instead of smoothly returning to center, the steering wheel sticks in the left position and has to be forced right to center or to turn back right. Obviously having steering that is stuck or that has to be forced can be dangerous, especially at highway speeds. It also sometimes makes a knocking sound when turned all the way to the left. I have not had the vehicle in…

The steering of the car sticks during continuous turns when the car has been driving for a significant amount of time (over 15 minutes). This problem started out as slight sticking when making large turns on the highway but has become increasingly more noticeable especially on lower speed roads and turns. My VIN number is not connected to a recall however this issue seems to be the same as a recall for Honda CR-Vs from 2022-2024. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealership or service center and no warning lamps are on in the car.

At approximately 37,000 miles, the steering wheel developed a sticking issue. After researching the issue, we learned that Honda issued a recall involving the steering rack. Somehow, our VIN is not part of the recall. It falls under the years, and models, of the recall. This is a safety issue, especially at highway speeds. It appears to be the exact same issue as those on the recall. We have not yet had it officially diagnosed ($200 cost) and, a replacement would be $3,000-$4,000. Car now has 42,000 miles.

While driving my 2022 Honda CRV at highway speeds and at operating temperature, the steering sticks and/or pauses then releases causing the steering to jerk back in the opposite direction. This creates a major safety issue while driving on the highway and can potentially cause an accident. Additionally, when turning the vehicle left at slow speeds, we would periodically hear a clicking noise. These problems began at the beginning of 2024 and have progressively gotten worse. Initial attempts to have Honda identify the problems failed as they cou…

While steering and turning, the wheel continuously feels sticky and there is a clicking and squeaking sound when I begin to turn the wheel. It is available to inspect. This vehicle does not feel safe. I have had to turn the wheel with more effort when changing lanes on the highway causing overcorrection and the brake also slipped when I was braking before turning to get onto a major street. I have taken it to Firestone to get the brakes checked and for routine oil maintenance and a leak in the windshield reservoir. After the oil change, a Fir…

Sometimes when driving the automatic brakes will turn on and the car will suddenly brake hard. This has happened a few times now. I had a few close calls with drivers almost rear ending me because of this. This seems to happen randomly as it always happens in different areas. There were a few times there was nobody else on the road other than me and the automatic brakes would kick in. I put in the date of the last time this occurred to me. This is a reoccurring issue that compromises my safety.

The most urgent issue with my vehicle is the automatic braking system. During several instances driving during the day and at night, my car has done what’s referred to as “phantom braking” where it detects something in the road, though the road is completely clear and open and the brakes engage and suddenly stop my car. It’s happened on occasions where it triggers the brakes lightly and it’s happened so intensely that my seat buckle has locked up throwing my head forward and my car comes to a near stop on the FREEWAY. The automatic braking system is repeatedly braking inappropriately, with nothing in front of us or in the road. We have not gotten into an accident yet but have come close twice. The Honda dealership in Elk Grove, CA acted like this was normal and it “could be a leaf or pebble” and there’s nothing they can fix because it’s normal. This is not normal. It’s dangerous.

Something needs to be done about this and the Government needs Honda to issue a recall. Also they’re having an electrical issue. The dash and screen flicker on and off. This is very frustrating especially at night.

The above would not let me check ALL of the boxes. I’m having continued problems with my 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid Touring, with every warning light on the car all of a sudden starts flashing and eventually the car looses complete power. This is the third time it has happened to me, and after taking it to two different Honda dealerships, no one can tell me what is going on, and then they send me back out on the road, only for it to happen again. Every warning light on the car lights up and every bell goes off. Yet, no one can tell me a thing! It’s …

My wife reported that as she was making a right turn, driving home in the rain, the radio screen slowly faded to black and then the dashboard went black as well. There was a loss of power but the car did not turn off. The vehicle is a hybrid and it appears that the car was running using the battery as after a short distance the radio screen and dashboard both came on. She does not know if the check engine came on. This is the first time this has happened. If it happens again then I will take the car to the dealership and have it checked out. I …

I was driving my 2021 Honda CR-V vehicle at residential speed (exact speed unknown). Car suddenly stopped in street causing me to jerk forward in driver seat. As the car stopped, I saw the orange BRAKE symbol appear in front dash. I was accelerating at time of incident. I was not using the brakes. I was injured with severe whiplash. Pain so severe that I also made an error with administration of a pain reliever when I arrived home. The steering wheel will freeze up, and I have to forcibly jerk the wheel to the opposite direction to return directional control. This typically happens at freeway speeds in sweeping right hand turns. This problem has gotten worse over time. Problem not common in left hand turns, or at lower speeds.

We put the gear shift into Park and restarted the car. It started right away and we had no issues for 1 week.
