STARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER REFUELING AT A GAS STATION. WHEN I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE THE ENGINE SPED UP AND SURGED FORWARD. SINCE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE DIDN'T MOVE BUT THE FORCE WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO CAUSE SQUEALING AND A CLUNK OF THE TRANSMISSION. THE TACK WAS RACING AND THEN DROPPED DOWN TO NORMAL. ALL OF THIS OCCURRED WITHOUT TOUCHING THE GAS PEDAL. THIS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME TODAY. I STARTED THE CAR A SECOND TIME AND THE ENGINE RACED FOR SEVERAL SECONDS BEFORE SLOWING DOWN.

Radio system is making cracking noise and audio cuts in and out which requires it to be turned off in order to get it to stop. The noise can be startling and the need to unplug audio and turn unit on and off creates a safety issue. From my research this appears to be a common problem with these vehicles.

Adaptive cruise control and Lane keeping assistance warning lights pop-up sporadically on the dashboard. I have had the car serviced at several different Honda dealerships 5 plus times and every time they say that the reason why the warning lights pop up is because the battery is defective. I've only had the car for a couple of months in the battery has been replaced three times. The warning lights on the car and the battery dying and needing to be replaced by AAA and Honda at least three separate times has been a concern for me from the moment…

I am having an issue with the turn signal / emergency flasher not making any noise while in operation. The system visual components work fine. The engine idle at stop function is not operating properly. The on/off switch only works some of the time, so I cannot control the function. It seems to turn off and on at random. When in stop and go traffic for any length of time where I need to edge forward every moment or so, the car is hesitating while the engine re-starts. I get honked at and am worried I'll get bumped from behind while waiting for the engine to turn on and be responsive. I cannot get the function to turn off when I need it to for my sense of safety.

WHEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ON A TWO LANE ROAD, THE VEHICLE WILL GIVE FALSE FORWARD COLLISION ALERTS FROM ONCOMING VEHICLES IN THE OPPOSING LANE. WHEN DRIVING ON A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY WITH ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, VEHICLES DRIVING SLOWER IN THE LANE TO YOUR LEFT WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN SUDDENLY (THERE ARE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT ). ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL WORKS WELL MOST OF THE TIME. OCCASIONALLY, IT IGNORES STOPPED TRAFFIC AND CLOSES TO A DANGEROUS DISTANCE. IT THEN SLAMS ON THE BRAKES AND ALL WARNING LIGHTS GO ON. THE SENSORS ARE DEFECTIVE. ON TWO LANE ROADS, THE SENSORS DETECT ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND FLASH THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT. WHEN ON CRUISE, THE SENSORS DETECT CARS MAKING A LEFT TURN WHEN PASSED ON THE RIGHT, AND APPLY THE BRAKES. THE SAME THING HAPPENS WHEN ON A FREEWAY IN THE MIDDLE LANE PASSING A CAR ON THE RIGHT. This has happened 7 times since I have owned the car (purchased April 2023). Vehicle has a delayed response to accelerate as if the transmission doesn’t want to shift or missing the next up shift. Starting from a stop position you have to press further down on the accelerator to get the vehicle to move which could lead you to accident either hit someone in front of you cause the vehicle lurched forward or possibly hit from the side or rear cause the vehicle won’t accelerate

When backing out of a driveway onto a busy street, I put the car in reverse and back out into the lane of traffic. I then put the car into drive and try to pull forward into the lane of traffic with cars coming up behind me but the car does not respond to the gas pedal for many seconds. I have almost been rear ended because of this several times.

The auto stop/start feature caused my vehicle to stall in the middle of the road. I had stopped at an intersection and just as the engine shut off, traffic cleared and I went to accelerate, and the engine shut off completely. I had to shift to Park to start the engine.

My 2026 Passport has severe transmission issues that the dealership and Honda North America are not acknowledging. The shifts are harsh at any speed. The downshifts (especially from 40-0 mph) are consistently violent and jerky. I cannot drive this car smoothly enough to keep my newborn baby in it because the car rocks and lunges enough to disturb him. I have driven two other brand new Passports and have been able to replicate the same issues. I have also driven with a Honda tech in the car and he has said the transmission is way too harsh altho…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
