IDLING FOR A LONG TIME, OR DRIVING AT VERY LOW SPEEDS FOR A LONG TIME (STOP-AND-GO IN A SEVERE TRAFFIC JAM) ALSO HAVING MOST OF THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT TURNED WILL CAUSE THE BATTERY TO GO DEAD BECAUSE THE ALTERNATOR DOES NOT ADEQUATELY CHARGE. THIS MAY BE A SAFETY PROBLEM BECAUSE DRIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS DURING SEVERE TRAFFIC MAY CAUSE THE BATTERY TO DISCHARGE AND THE ENGINE TO STALL; NOT ALLOWING THE ABILITY TO MOVE TO SAFE POSITION. *LA

THIS OCCURS COMPLETELY SPORADICALLY, IT WILL FUNCTION NORMALLY FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN MALFUNCTION SEVERAL TIMES, AND THEN RETURN TO NORMAL. WHEN TAKEN TO TRANSMISSION SHOP I WAS TOLD IT WAS FINE, THIS IS PARTLY DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WITHOUT DROPPING THE PAN. Radio system is making cracking noise and audio cuts in and out which requires it to be turned off in order to get it to stop. The noise can be startling and the need to unplug audio and turn unit on and off creates a safety issue. From my research this appears to be a common problem with these vehicles.

Adaptive cruise control and Lane keeping assistance warning lights pop-up sporadically on the dashboard. I have had the car serviced at several different Honda dealerships 5 plus times and every time they say that the reason why the warning lights pop up is because the battery is defective. The engine idle at stop function is not operating properly. The on/off switch only works some of the time, so I cannot control the function. It seems to turn off and on at random. Incident # 1. June 2025 Vehicle has approximately 3400 miles on it. I was driving southbound on I 35 freeway in the Lakeville Minnesota area. I was in the center lane of the freeway traveling at about 65 mph. Traffic was light. There was no one in front of me. Suddenly, the car broke hard. I was thrust forward against the seatbelt with my hands, pushing against the steering wheel as the car slowed rapidly and came to an abrupt stop from 65 miles an hour. I had no ability to get the car to go. The gas pedal had no effect as this car came to a…

2025 Honda Passport with 10k miles ***Braking issues - -Collision Mitigation System going off randomly and often, with no oncoming traffic, no obstacles or obstructions. -Phantom braking and “BRAKE” warning/steering wheel shake. Occurs often on windy, hilly roads with sharp curves, often to the right. Branches, guard rails, etc will activate the system at high speeds 50 mph and over, causing serious safety concerns of the vehicle stopping for no true cause. -White cars in oncoming traffic seemingly activate the “BRAKE” warning on occasio…

Driving around 40 miles an hour on interstate during torrential rain around 4 PM. Visibility was bad and could see about 30 feet ahead. Car automatically slammed on break (ADAS BRAKE Light came on) and came to an abrupt stop 2 or 3 times as a tried to get car moving again. Luckily all traffic was driving slow and car behind was staying a good distance back. Otherwise I probably would have been rear-ended. This area is also under construction so some old road lines have been grinded down and new lines repainted to new traffic pattern. I ha…

Rear tires wearing out inside prematurely due to wheel alignment got off, install all new tires and did wheel alignment and found out that camber adjustment required to fix the issues but repair shop and even Honda dealer can’t adjust camber settings since camber is not adjustable in 2019 Honda passport. Honda dealership told me to go somewhere else and have them install aftermarket camber adjustable kit? Totally unacceptable. If can’t fix this problem then my tires will wear out prematurely again. Vehicle has 11,500 miles on it and constantly pulls to the right. Pulls harder under hard acceleration, requiring steering correction when accelerating hard and again correcting when backing off the accelerator. Have had to dealer multiple times. They claim they can't fix. Correcting to the left under load and back to the right can cause car to weave at highway speeds and cause it to be unstable. Car is available for inspection upon request.

Vehicle has a delayed response to accelerate as if the transmission doesn’t want to shift or missing the next up shift. Starting from a stop position you have to press further down on the accelerator to get the vehicle to move which could lead you to accident either hit someone in front of you cause the vehicle lurched forward or possibly hit from the side or rear cause the vehicle won’t accelerate

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

*LA

I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT ANOTHER (AS THE DEALER PUTS IT) "COMMON DEFECT" WITH MY PASSPORT. IN ADDITION TO THE VALVE TRAIN PREMATURE WEAR, THIS ENGINE ALSO HAS AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL CONSUMPTION. OIL CONSUMPTION IS SPORADIC, BUT CAN EXCEED MORE THAN TWO QUARTS PER 1000 MILES DRIVEN. OIL CONSUMPTION OCCURS REGARDLESS OF DRIVING CONDITIONS OR LOAD ON VEHICLE. IN COMBINATION WITH NO DASH WARNING, THE OIL CONSUMPTION CAN LEAD TO ENGINE FAILURE WITHIN THE REGULAR OIL CHANGE INTERVAL. ENGINE FAILURE REPLACEMENT AT OVER 10,000 DOLLARS PER DEALERSHIP.…
