Animal chewed the wiring harness causing an airbag malfunction warning and transmission failure. My safety was put at risk because the airbag wouldn't work and the transmission failed while I was driving. The vehicle is being repaired right now with a new harness. Talking with the insurance adjuster. I was informed this was a common issue with this vehicle due to the materials the manufacturer uses. The harness is not properly designed with the proper materials for the environment it is used in.

There have been multiple occasions, both on highway and urban roads, when the Lane Keeping Assist system has forced me out of my lane, both taking control of my car's steering wheel to move me out of the lane while also failing to trigger my Lane Departure Warning. One time, LKA jerked over into a lane of oncoming traffic, another time it jerked me out of my lane into a near collision with a concrete lane barrier, and another time the LKA jerked out of the lane almost into a curb.

While driving down an interstate at approximately 58 miles per hour, I turned on the cruise control and went to adjust it to 65 miles per hour. The car rapidly accelerated and it appeared on the dash that the cruise control defaulted to 110 miles per hour, which appears to be the maximum on the system. I tried to turn the speed down, but the cruise control would not go below 110 miles per hour. I immediately deactivated cruise control and continued to drive at normal speed. I have been encountering a series of troubling and erratic issues with my vehicle. These problems occur under various driving conditions, including acceleration, steady-state driving, and braking. However, the most prevalent and problematic occurrences seem to transpire during acceleration and braking. During acceleration, I've observed inconsistent behavior. Sometimes, the car shifts smoothly, with minimal torque drop between gears. On other occasions, the vehicle accelerates initially but then abruptly loses all power between gears, resembli…

This made me have to pull over to the side of the road with no ability to accelerate out of the way of traffic to come to a stop. Horn has failed twice. The first time it was taken to the dealership and “fixed” - now it has failed again. The second issue is that the car accelerates on its own, both at a high and low rate of speed. While traveling at approximately 60 mph on multiple occasions, when the engine transitions from the electric motor to the gas engine, it will suddenly rapidly accelerate without any additional pressure on the gas pedal. While braking at a low rate of speed, the car seems to fight the brakes and will accelerate instead, propelling the car forward…

Sometimes, for no reason my car will not accelerate (no amount of pedal to the metal will help) and then when it does accelerate, it surges forward at random points and tries to overpower the brakes. This has happened multiple times and the dealer claims they have never heard of this happening. It could cause a serious accident when it happens. On a few occasions (3?) the cars’ automatic emergency braking feature activated while driving at both highway and normal speeds. The horn on my car has completely stopped working. We have checked the fuses, but that is not the issue. A "Google" search reveals that this is a common, and known, issue and happens to the 2023 trim models; not just the Elantra, but others as well.

I purchased the car brand new March 2023. I noticed the front driver headlight fogs and has condensation in cool weather. I mentioned to the Dealership and they said it was a known issue but no fix for it. The light was sealed properly. This has been on going since 2023. The condensation has gotten worse and is a safety visability issue.

For the second time in two years, my horn suddenly stopped working. About 6 months after purchasing the car, the horn began to sound high pitched. Then about three weeks later the horn stopped working, requiring the replacement of the horn. A month later, the horn sounded high pitched again. Hyundai advised me the horn is a "two-horn system" in which a high pitch and low pitch horn produce the horn noise. The low pitch keeps failing. About 4 months after the horn was only sounding a high pitched sound, the horn stopped when I hit the horn to av…

I was performing a low-speed maneuver to reverse-park into my driveway. After making a right turn between my driveway and the driveway of a neighboring townhouse across the street, I came to a complete stop. When I shifted the vehicle into reverse, the vehicle did not reverse as expected and instead unexpectedly accelerated forward. I applied the brake but was unable to stop the vehicle before it traveled forward into the driveway across the street and struck the garage door of a neighboring townhouse. The maneuver was being performed at low s…

There are have been three significant safety issues with the car. 1. The forward collision alert system goes off without warning and with zero debris or cars in front of me. This has happened three times, putting my safety and those around me at risk. 2. The car has suddenly had what feels like the rear brakes locking up without warning midway through a turn. The car wheels were still spinning but the car stopped moving. This put me directly in harm's way. 3. While my foot was OFF the accelerator while I was approaching a stoplight, the car …
