Owner report 11740128 · 2026-05-26 (May 26, 2026)

I was driving - the car in front of me signaled they were exiting my lane, I accelerated to pull up - the auto brake triggered for no reason, slamming my car to a stop without my consent. This caused the car behind me to rear end the rear passenger side of my car, causing minor cosmetic damage.

Owner report 11745419 · 2026-06-20 (June 20, 2026)

There was a recent recall for the forward collision cameras that were causing breaking issues. This happened 4 or 5 times with the vehicle slamming on the brakes violently. I took it into Tustin Hyundai last month and had the software recall applied. The issue happened again on the 55 highway on June 20th at 6pm going approximately 35mph. Vehicle in front of me hard braked and applied brakes under control coming to a stop when the car took over and slammed on the brakes skidding the vehicle sideways

Owner report 11748907 · 2026-07-07 (July 7, 2026)

My 2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid has lost drive/propulsion three times at freeway speed within the first month of ownership. The loss of power is sudden, and the vehicle does not re-engage drive for approximately 15–20 seconds. On July 5, 2026, at approximately 60 mph, the vehicle lost propulsion entirely and went limp in live freeway traffic, forcing me to coast off the freeway. Drive was only restored by shutting the engine off and restarting it. Two earlier occurrences happened on July 5, 2026 (earlier in the same drive) and on June 14, 2026. T…

Owner report 11751104 · 2026-07-17 (July 17, 2026)

The vehicle was taken to the dealership for Recall 304 (NHTSA Campaign 26V400), which was supposed to fix an instrument panel/heads-up display (HUD) communication loop crash. However, the software update merely isolated the crash so that only the HUD goes black and reboots while driving. The underlying signal drop or hardware defect is still actively occurring. The issue may appear to be a loose physical connection or faulty wiring harness, as the HUD loss may be triggered after hitting a bump or uneven road surface, though it remains intermitt…

Owner report 11763896 · 2026-09-13 (September 13, 2026)

Driver alert system frequently comes on with blinking lights and on several occasions has slowed the vehicle while on cruise control even though both hands were on steering wheel. It appears that system is overly sensitive to glare from the sun. Hyundai should issue either a recall or software fix.

The backup alarm sound is unreasonably loud. I understand that it's a Hybrid Vehicle and can be quiet but very few ICE vehicle are as loud as the backup sound on my vehicle. One impact of the loud sound is that I find myself rushing to backup just to be able to get my vehicle out of reverse so that alarm can shut off. This is especially true when I'm in trying to avoid noise. This can be backing into my own driveway if I come home late at night so not to wake the family or neighbors. Neighbors have also complained that the sound is as if a semi…

Unknown what fails. After driving approximately 30 minutes on a highway, car suddenly stops accelerating and bucks a bit as it slows. Must turn off car and turn it back on to accelerate again. Happens on the highway frequently. Very dangerous as there’s no way to accelerate. Only stop. It’s like it can’t find a gear and the engine revs. It happened 6 times during a 2.5 hour drive.

The implementation of the hybrid car backup warning siren exceeds safe noise limits. In order to meet the fed reg requiring the vehicle to emit a sound that reaches the 56 db level 6 feet from the rear bumper- Hyundai installs a >90db speaker in the front of the car. Waited a few minutes and restarted vehicle which drove without problems. The 2025 Hyundai Tucson's Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system does not operate properly due to either a design flaw or a flawed implementation of the design. This system does not work with sunglasses. Wearing sunglasses to drive on a sunny day is a normal activity. I was driving - the car in front of me signaled they were exiting my lane, I accelerated to pull up - the auto brake triggered for no reason, slamming my car to a stop without my consent. This caused the car behind me to rear end the rear passenger side of my car, causing minor cosmetic damage.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
