TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JAYCO JAY SERIES 1001 XR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS A PROP-UP CAMPER WITH AN ELECTRIC MOTOR. WHEN THE TOP WAS COMPLETELY RAISED, IT COLLAPSED. THE MECHANISM BOLT THAT RAISED THE ROOF HAD BEEN STRIPPED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROMISED A CALL BACK; HOWEVER, THEY HAD NOT CALLED BACK. THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMED THAT THEY WERE BUSY WITH MANY CALL BACK ISSUES. CAMPING WORLD OF MESQUITE (2764 I-30, MESQUITE, TX 75150, [phone removed]) ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE JAYCO MANUFACTURER DIRECTLY.

IN OCTOBER 2019, ONE FAILED CATASTROPHICALLY ON LEVEL, PAVED ROAD AT 65MPH WITH APPROXIMATELY 5000 MILES ON IT. THE ENTIRE TREAD, BELTS AND INTERNAL STRUCTURE SEPARATED, LEAVING ONLY THE SIDEWALLS BEHIND. I HAD VISUALLY INSPECTED ALL TIRES FOR PROPER INFLATION AND DEFECTS JUST 3 MILES BEFORE THE FAILURE. ON JUN 8, 2020, A SECOND TIRE FAILED CATASTROPHICALLY. T…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
