JEEP IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE. WE ARE AVID JEEP PEOPLE AND TIRE PRESSURE IS CORRECT. JEEP NEEDS CONSTANT STEERING INPUT TO BE DRIVE DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR ANY STRAIGHT SMOOTH ROAD WITHOUT ANY OTHER FORCES ACTING AGAINST. SEEMS LIKE NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO YOU ARE ALWAYS CORRECTING TO TRY TO DRIVE DOWN THE RAOD STRAIGHT. THERE IS ABOUT 2" PLUS YOU CAN TURN THE WHEEL BACK AND FORTH AND NOTHING HAPPENS ON THE ROAD OR WHEELS ACTUALLY TURNING AT ALL. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. THE STEERING ON A BRAND NEW 2019 JEEP WRANGLER JL WITH LESS THAN 100 MILES HAS VERY LOOSE STEERING WITH A DEAD SPOT AT THE TOP. IT IS EXTREMELY CHALLENGING TO MAINTAIN A LANE WHEN DRIVING, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEED REQUIRING CONSTANT INPUT FROM THE DRIVER. UNDER HARD BRAKING THE VEHICLE WILL PULL TO THE RIGHT. THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SUPPOSEDLY PERFORMED A 4-WHEEL ALIGNMENT PRIOR TO ME PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AFTER MY INITIAL COMPLIANT DURING TEST DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.

I RECENTLY RENTED A 2019 JEEP WRANGLER FROM AVIS AT MCCARRAN AIRPORT IN LAS VEGAS. THE AVIS VEHICLE NUMBER WAS 90380010. THE RENTAL AGREEMENT NUMBER WAS 420140943. THE VEHICLE HAD AN AFTERMARKET PIECE OF ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT INSTALLED BY AVIS UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE DASHBOARD, PROBABLY A GPS DEVICE OF SOME KIND. THE DEVICE WAS PLUGGED INTO THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ON THE LEFT HAND WALL OF THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, WITH A CORD ABOUT 12-18 INCHES LONG STRETCHED OUT UNDER THE DASHBOARD. THE STEERING IS SLOPPY WITH 2-4 INCHES OF "PLAY" IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE HAD THE RECALL DONE FOR DAMPENER REPLACEMENT, BUT IT STILL TRIES TO "WALK" THE ROAD SIDE TO SIDE DUE TO THE SLACK IN THE STEERING. I AM TOLD THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL ASSIST, BUT IT NEEDS ADDRESSED. I DRIVE FOR HOURS AND HAVING TO FIGHT THIS BACK AND FORTH THE ENTIRE TIME IS UNSAFE. ALSO, THE WINDSHIELDS ARE NOT SLOPED ENOUGH FOR AREAS WHERE THERE ARE MANY BUGS. THE WINDSHIELD BECOMES SO CONGESTED WITH SPLATTERED BUGS IT'S HARD TO SEE. THE WAS…

We made sandwiches and took our time eating. After packing up, we jumped back into the Jeep to continue our journey. I started the Jeep and we immediately smelled fuel. IN MOTION OVER 45MPH, THE JEEP WILL SUDDENLY EXPERIENCE A STEERING WOBBLE THAT CAUSES ALMOST COMPLETE LACK OF CONTROL. TO FIX THE ISSUE, SPEED MUST BE DECREASED TO <10MPH WHICH CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DUE TO TRAFFIC AND HIGH SPEEDS. THE STEERING WHEEL IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. PROBLEM IS REPRODUCIBLE ON ALL ROADS AND IN ALL CONDITIONS. I WOULD ESTIMATE THAT THE DRIVER IS LEFT WITH 10% CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND LEFT IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

PUSH BUTTON START WITH KEYLESS ENTRY. VEHICLE DOES NOT GIVE AUDIBLE WARNING WHEN YOU LEAVE THE VEHICLE RUNNING ON EXIT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND COULD CAUSE DEATH IF PARKED IN YOUR HOME GARAGE. IT IS VERY EASY PUT THE GEARSHIFT IN PARK AND EXIT THE VEHICLE WITHOUT TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. (I HAVE DONE THIS TWICE WITHIN A 3 MONTH PERIOD) AN AUDIBLE WARNING ON EXIT, WHICH INDICATES THE MOTOR IS STILL RUNNING, WOULD PREVENT THIS FROM TAKING PLACE.

This occurred during the 3rd year I owned the car, but it only happened a handful of times. The belt-driven starter generator failed after just 3 years of having the brand new…

Jeep Wranglers in the older/early models had aluminum steering steering boxes that would have excessive play do to thermal expansion. Jeep never made it recall but did provide a TSB NUMBER: 08-074-20 REV. B GROUP: 08- Electrical DATE: September 26, 2020. The TSB would recommend the aluminum steering box be replaced with a steel one. The issue is that many dealers refused to do the fix/change parts for free under or out of warranty. Its clearly an issue as later/newer models of the Jeep JL Wrangler started shipping with the steel steering box.

I took it to LaFontaine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Clinton, 1111 W Michigan Ave, Clinton, MI 49236; [XXX] . They told me it would be $1100 to just look at my Jeep and diagnose it, after confirming it was the clutch that is the problem. They procee…

Vehicle is inoperable. Dealer says it is a bad ABS module. 80+ codes were thrown, dashboard lights flickering on and off. Right brakes locked up on mechanic test drive. All ABS functionality failed. The part is not being manufactured at this time. I have been told that there is no date when to expect the part's availability. This seems to be a common issue that should be recalled.
