13 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

17V749000 · Equipment

Reported: 2017-11-21 (November 21, 2017) · Model years: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018

KZRV, L.P. (KZRV) is recalling various 2002-2018 recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. See a list of the affected trailer models at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V749-9547.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf

Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: KZRV will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016 extension 154 or 153, or Kidde customer service toll free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.

11V022000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer

Reported: 2011-01-24 (January 24, 2011) · Model years: 2004, 2005

KZRV IS RECALLING CERTAIN TOWABLE TRAVEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH 1200-SERIES NORCOLD REFRIGERATORS. THE POPULATION OF REFRIGERATORS BEING ADDRESSED CONTAINS EITHER A SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED IN ORDER TO PREVENT A POTENTIAL FIRE. THE RESPONSE TIMES OF THE SENSOR ALGORITHM AND THERMAL SWITCH DEVICES TO STOP POWER ARE NOT SUFFICIENT.

Consequence: THE SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH INSTALLED TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED DUE TO A POSSIBLE HYDROGEN GAS LEAK MAY NOT SHUT OFF IN SUFFICIENT TIME TO PREVENT A FIRE.

Remedy: KZRV IS WORKING WITH NORCOLD TO IDENTIFY AND NOTIFY ANY AFFECTED OWNERS. OWNERS WILL BE INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT NORCOLD DEALERS TO RECEIVE THE REMEDY FREE OF CHARGE. PLEASE SEE NORCOLD'S DEFECT REPORT 10E-049 FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 3, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NORCOLD AT 1-800-767-9101.

Reported: 2016-12-14 (December 14, 2016) · Model years: 2016, 2017

KZRV, L.P. (KZRV) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Venom and Durango Gold toyhaulers and fifth wheel trailers manufactured January 11, 2016, to December 2, 2016. Remedy: KZRV will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the weld thickness, and if necessary replace the rear door hinges, free of charge. The recall began on January 13, 2017. Owners may contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016 extension 154 or 153.

Consequence: Due to either being untested, or improperly sealed, the propane line may leak, increasing the risk of a fire or explosion.

Remedy: KZRV will notify owners, and dealers will seal the propane line and test the system for leaks, free of charge. The recall began on May 17, 2017. Owners may contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016 extension 153 or 154.

I have a 2022 KZ Durango 321RKT. The frame has been flexing up in the front by the bedroom slide out. There is now a crack in the bedroom wall, which expands from when it’s on the truck to when it’s on the landing gear on the ground. It also is causing the outside of the RV to buckle in the same place. KZand Lippert both said that there’s nothing that they can do. There’s no frame flex in my camper and that they fixed it before my camper was built and they also said that it’s three years old. It’s out of warranty. Warranty and frame should not …

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.

AS I WAS STEPPING INTO THE RV, THE UPPER STEP SEPARATED ON ONE SIDE. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO GRAB ONTO THE RV OTHERWISE I WOULD'VE FALLEN. UPON INSPECTING THE STEPS I FOUND A RIVET THAT HAD BROKEN WHICH CONNECTS THE STEP TO A BRACKET. SEE PHOTOS. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED ME MY RV WAS NOT WITHIN THE RECALL ISSUED BY KZRV. I ASKED THEM TO ORDER THE KIT REQUIRED AND IF THEY COULD NOT PROVIDE ANY GOODWILL TOWARD INSTALLING THE KIT, I WOULD DO IT MYSELF. THE RV HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THIS RV IS A 2015 DUR…
