At approximately 39,000 miles, my 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar developed a coolant leak from the front lower crossover in the engine valley. A repair facility confirmed the issue and recommended replacement of the front upper and lower crossovers, water pump, and hoses. The repair estimate is $2,727. This problem is a known defect in other Jaguar Land Rover vehicles (crossover/elbow coolant leaks) that were subject to recalls and lawsuits, but my VIN is not currently included. ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2019, MY WIFE AND 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER PULLED INTO OUR DRIVEWAY IN OUR 2019 RANGE ROVER VELAR. SHORTLY BEFORE PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A COOLANT ALERT WENT OFF. THE CAR THEN BURST INTO FLAMES WHILE PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY. MY WIFE QUICKLY GOT OUR DAUGHTER OUT OF HER CAR SEAT AND RAN ACROSS THE STREET TO CALL 911. JUST AS SHE GOT TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET, THE CAR EXPLODED. SEE ATTACHED PICTURES. *PLEASE NOTE: THIS FORM WAS FILLED OUT ON BEHALF OF OWNER BY COUNSEL.

THE LAND ROVER VELAR WAS PURCHASE ON JANUARY 25, 2020 FROM STEVENS CREEK JAGUAR LAND OVER OF SAN JOSE, CA. WHEN IT REACHED 1600 MILES, I FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE HAD THE OIL LEAKAGE PHENOMENON. THERE IS A LOT OF OIL AT THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE. I SUSPECTED THAT THERE WAS A LEAKAGE PROBLEM WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. I CONTACTED THE DEALER REPAIR SERVICE ON MARCH 18, 2020 AND SEND THE VEHICLE BACK. ON APRIL 1, 2020, I WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED. THEY TEST DROVE IT FOR 40 MILES. The contact’s mother owns a 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Velar. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. There was white smoke coming from underneath the hood of the vehicle due to the engine overheating. The failure occurred within 10 minutes of driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to dealer, who diagnosed that the auxiliary radiator, cooling system hose, and radiator deflector had failed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, who diagnosed th…

ON APRIL 3, THE VEHICLE WAS AT 1,745 MILES. I LAI…

I'm writing to report a serious safety issue with my 2020 Range Rover Velar's power tailgate. While I was inside the cargo area, the tailgate began closing on its own/unexpectedly. On a separate occasion, it closed on my [XXX] son while he was in the cargo area-I had to push him out of the way to prevent him from being crushed. Shortly after these incidents, the tailgate/latch actuator stopped functioning entirely. I took the vehicle to the dealer who quoted approximately $1300 to replace the latch assembly. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
