Recall history

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

18V107000 · Fuel System, Gasoline:Delivery:Fuel Pump

Reported: 2018-02-14 (February 14, 2018) · Model years: 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Lexus GS F, 2018 LC500, and 2015-2018 Lexus RC F vehicles, equipped with 5.0L V8 2UR-GSE engines with two high pressure fuel pumps. Specific operating conditions may result in damage to the pulsation damper in one of the high pressure fuel pumps, possibly causing a fatigue crack in the fuel pump cover.

Consequence: A cracked cover may leak fuel, which, in the presence of an ignition source, can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the high pressure fuel pumps, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin April 2, 2018. Owners may contact Lexus customer service 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are J2B and JLB.

22V615000 · Equipment:Other:Labels | Tires

Reported: 2022-08-10 (August 10, 2022) · Model years: 2020, 2021, 2022

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Lexus) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Lexus RC F vehicles. The tire information label does not list the vehicle's weight capacity. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Consequence: The vehicle can be overloaded without the weight capacity information, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the tire information label, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 25, 2022. Owners may contact Lexus' customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Lexus' number for this recall is 22LA03.

WHEN USING THE VENTILATED SEATS THE UPPER PART OF THE SEAT HEATS UP (BETWEEN MY SHOULD BLADES). IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN RANDOMLY. SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T HEAT UP AND OTHER TIMES IT DOES. WHEN IT DOES HEAT UP IT GETS SO HOT THAT I HAVE TO TURN OFF THE VENTILATED SEATS. IT IS NOT AMBIENT OR TRAPPED HOT AIR BECAUSE I OFTEN START MY CAR USING THE LEXUS REMOTE TO START MY CAR AND LET IT RUN FOR 5-8 MINUTES SO MY VEHICLE CAN COOL DOWN (AND WARM UP) BEFORE I GET IN AND START DRIVING IT.

THERE ARE OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AREA. MY HUSBAND WEARS A SIZE 12 SHOE. WHEN HE PRESSES DOWN ON THE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY, THE RIGHT SIDE OF HIS SHOE ENCOUNTERS AN OBSTRUCTION. HE MOVES HIS FOOT OVER TO THE LEFT A LITTLE AND CAN GET THE PEDAL DOWN BUT THEN THE TIP OF HIS TOE GETS CAUGHT IN A BOLT OR SOMETHING ABOVE THE TOP OF THE PEDAL. WE HAVE CONTACTED LEXUS AND THEY ARE UNWILLING TO DO ANYTHING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN!!!

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
