My car’s check engine light came on and my vehicle shut off while I was driving at 40-45 mph on the highway. It has repeatedly done this. I contacted dealership immediately and was told there is a recall for my vehicle coming out on 08/25/2023. My vehicle isn’t safe to drive and they did not have a repair available or solution available. I reported problem to dealer on August 5, 2023

Mercedes G63 with approx. 3500 miles will suddenly enter into collision avoidance mode. Specifically, the seatbelts will tighten up and the brakes will fully engage to stop the vehicle. In all cases, there was no risk of collision and the system engages with false positive alerts. The console display will indicate the area where the vehicle believed a collision may occur and there is nothing in that vicinity. The risk of injury and bodily harm is significant with this system as the vehicle is uncontrollable and can be rear-ended among ot…

Mercedes refuses to come up with a solution. I have been dealing with this for 8 months now. I asked that they buy the car back since it is a safety concern. I do not feel safe driving it. yet i have to keep paying for the car that sits there? They are not coming up with a solution and i already had this replaced last October when it broke for the first time. i am really upset with owning a car i cannot drive because of safety concerns.

The lane keeping assistance is WAY to sensitive. Several times at just the slightest move towards the shoulder the car will brake and swerve. Its very alarming and needs to be recalibrated.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
