Shortly after the initial noise I could tell the car was struggling to accelerate. I was driving home on a residential street at approximately 30 MPH. I heard a loud pop or bang sound coming from the top middle area of my windshield. I purchased my car in April of this year 2022 and have driven less than 10K miles. The tread of my front two tires has already worn down to less than 3/32 compared to the rear wheel 6/32. Driving conditions are normal and according to Mercedes this is known issue. This exceeds normal wear and tear and should be a safety concern.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
