Wheel speed sensors appear to fail on a routine basis (every 0-10 months), similar to the subject of recall 21V-042 on Sprinter vans. Sensor failure disables most safety features of vehicles including ABS, blind spot warning, assisted steering, and other safety features. THe failure causes notable issues with handling/steering and braking. Failure at highway speed impacts vehicle driving stability and increases the risk of a crash. Hi, I was driving at highway speeds, about 80mph through West Texas where the speed limit is 80MPH. At which point the power steering malfunctioned and completely turned off, leaving only manual steering. There was an error on the display indicating power steering malfunc…

The digital display system that indicates how many miles you have left until empty is not accurate. The dashboard display indicated that I had about 85 miles of range left before my tank was empty. Approximately 35 miles later, when there should have been 50 miles of range left according to the digital dashboard display, the vehicle ran out of gas and I was left stranded on the side of the freeway. This is a safety issue. I have read numerous reports of similar incidents with this vehicle in online forums.

The pressure relief valve part on our Mercedes van is causing a check engine light to go off with code P052E. It's a known issue on several MB models (GLB, C300, etc.) that this original part wears out and can potentially cause an under-hood fire if oil gets clogged up in the components. To my knowledge there is no routine maintenance that we missed that would be causing this issue. MB has since released a new style of PCV part with insulation wrapped around the hose to prevent condensation build up. It's not possible to get the original stye o…

Recently took my vehicle in to get the brakes check and inspected. Technician at Mercedes Benz noticed a fuel leak in the upper fuel line. We both thought was very odd because the vehicle only has 35k miles on it and the line is visibly in great condition. I did a little research and found that there was a recall for this exact issue. But it seems that my vin wasn’t in the recall. I contacted Mercedes and told me to reach out to you guys. I’ve had multiple issues with Mercedes upon the delivery of my van. A check engine light on a Mercedes-Benz Metris, accompanied by a P052E code, often indicates a problem with the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system, specifically the PCV regulator valve or its associated components. This code signals that the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has detected an issue with the crankcase pressure, suggesting a malfunction in the PCV system's ability to regulate pressure.

See attached document for complaint. I wanted to express my displeasure with the manner in which the above reference recall was conducted. The timeline left many owners with expensive replacement bills for new tires to replace inadequate tires that were installed as OEM on our vans. The message boards tell a story of frustration for a large group of consumers. As you know the recall was originally made in July of 2022. The notice to dealers went out in September of 2022. Mercedes Benz appeared to really drag their feet on a solution to the iss…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

I am the owner of 2018 Mercedes Benz Matrix. The car was purchased in order to use it for business on renting platform. It does have recall which is not active and in review for more than a year. Because of it Im not able to use the car, all renting platforms are blocking the car because it is open recall. Mercedes doesn't have remedy obviously, and just have it pending. Im loosing all business/ money because of this recall. The car is just standing parked, as I understand it is unsafe to drive for me and for other people.

Dealer previously repaired under warranty in October or November 2021. Unit failed in traffic at highway spee…

Hi, I was driving at highway speeds, about 80mph through West Texas where the speed limit is 80MPH. I was pulling a trailer, there was a 40'ish MPH side-wind blowing pushing the vehicle to the center divider. As I was passing a semi on the outside of a curve, as I came upon the bow wake, the vehicle was pushed towards the center divider and encountered the rumble strip. At which point the power steering malfunctioned and completely turned off, leaving only manual steering. There was an error on the display indicating power steering malfunc…

The check engine light came on, with code P052E indicating a positive crankcase ventilation valve failure. Dealer inspection revealed the PCV valve is sticking and recommended a replacement with a $2100 charge. This is a widely experienced problem with this engine in many Mercedes vehicles, suggesting that the cause is a manufacturer defect.
