PLEASE REFERENCE # 567343 GM VEHICLES OVER 16,500LBS HAS THE "AUTO PARK BRAKE" SYSTEM INSTALLED. IN THIS SYSTEM THE BRAKE IS HELD OFF BY HYDRO PRESSURE AND IS ACTIVATED BY A STRONG SPRING WHICH SLAMS THE BRAKE ON EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ANY MALFUNCTION WHICH ALLOWS A LOSS OF HYDRO PRESSURE WILL CAUSE THE BRAKES TO BE ACTIVATED. THIS SYSTEM FAILED ON MY VEHICLE AND I TOOK IT TO A CHEV SERVICE CENTER FOR REPAIR. THEY REPLACED THE PUMP AND ANNOUNCED THE SYSTEM FIXED. I DROVE BACK HOME (150 MI) AND THE SYSTEM LOCKED UP. MANAGED TO GET I…

THE BRAKES ON THE TRUCK FAILED 3 TIMES ON A 6000 MILE TRIP, THE TOW RATING FOR THE TRUCK IS 12500 LBS, THE TRAILERS DRY WEIGHT (WHICH IS DEIPLAYED INSIDE THE KITCHEN CABINET) IS 11,400, THE CONSUMER ALSO HAD TO REPLACE 2 TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLS AND THE TRAILER BRAKE, WHEN THE CONSUMERS WEIGHT THE TRAILER THEMSELVES THEY FOUND THAT THE TRAILER WEIGHED 13000 WHICH IS OVERWEIGHT FOR THE TRUCK. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO STEERING WHEEL DIRECTION. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. INFORMED CONSUMER THAT TANDEM SPRINGS WERE SHIFTING OUT OF PLACE. *AK THE LEAF SPRING WAS BROKEN ON THE LEFT SIDE CAUSING THE REAR AXLE TO MOVE FORWARD. ALSO THE TRAILER WAS LEANING TO THE RIGHT. THE LEFT REAR TIRE HAD TREAD SEPARATION CAUSING BREAKING THE WELD ON THE SHOCK ABSORBERS ON THE RIGHT AXLE.
