I own a 2019 Newmar King Aire and have lost two bay door skins in the past couple weeks during a trip from the West Coast to the East Coast. The first one was never recovered and I am horrified what might have happened if it would have hit someone. After we lost the first one, I inspected the rest of them, (14 in total) and they all felt secure. I then checked them again a couple hours prior to losing the second one. The Second one, I recovered after it flew up and damaged the side of my coach. These skins are only held on with 1/2" two-side…

Wet bay door skin adhesive is failing on many units causing the door skin to become detached and blow off of the vehicle while driving. This happened to ours and we’ve seen many other units with the same issue. The dealers know this is an issue but Newmar will not address.

The cargo door panel is set to fly off. The manufacturer, Newmar, is using 2 pieces of tape on the cargo bay door skin and it can fly off very easily. It's very dangerous and we are lucky we caught it before it flew off. There is another King Aire owner who warned us about it happening. His case number is 11661685.

Driver’s side cockpit window is fogged to the point of zero usable visibility. This is a known issue among other owners of Newmar products with Fresco frameless windows. Neither Newmar nor Fresco will cover any cost of replacement or repair. This is a $2200 window to replace so many owners will try to live with it, causing a major hazard to other vehicles.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
