- Pre-collision braking has deployed a number of times without cause (no one in front of vehicle, no collision threat at all. Most recently at 35mph, but at up to 55 mph prior. Feel free to inspect. - Brakes are automatically deployed HARD and without the warning that is supposed to occur. This has thrown me into the seatbelt a few times and poses a significant risk of getting rear ended. I'm afraid the automatic steering system is going to throw me into a ditch. - The dealer can't reproduce it and no log is recorded by the car because it isn't…

BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2019 SUBARU CROSSTREK, A CRACK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD JUST APPEARED ONE MORNING AFTER WARMING IT UP IN 20 DEGREE WEATHER, IN MICHIGAN. CRACK STARTED IN THE WIPER HEATING ELEMENT AREA AND THE CRACK SPREAD ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP. NO ROCK CHIPS ARE PRESENT. THE CAR IS JUST OVER 3 MONTHS OLD, 1700 MILES. I READ ELSEWHERE THAT THE NEWER OUTBACKS HAD THE SAME ISSUES. DOES CROSSTREK HAVE THE SAME ISSUES? SUBARU WON'T COVER IT. TOTAL BS.

I WAS DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON SMOOTH INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WITH LIGHT TRAFFIC . THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION. AFTER STOPPING IN A SAFE LOCATION, I DISCOVERED THE MOON ROOF HAD SHATTERED INTO TINY PIECES. I AM POSITIVE THERE WERE NO ROCKS OR STRUCTURES ABOVE..THERE WAS 1500 MILES ON THE CAR. THE SLIDING CEILING WAS CLOSED OR THERE WOULD BE SHATTERED GLASS ALL OVER THE INTERIOR. NO ONE WAS INJURED BUT IT WAS VERY DISTRACTING AND COULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO LOOSE CONTROL. THE MOONROOF GLASS MAY HAVE BEEN FAULTY. THE DEALER REPLACED IT AT NO COST TO ME.

Got my 2023 Crosstrek sport 2 days ago with 6 miles on the odometer. When I first drove it on the freeway today, a rock chip larger than a quarter appeared on my front windshield. I was on an overpass entering the main freeway so I was only going at 55 mph, did not even hear a loud bang when it happened. But given the size and depth of the crack, I have to replace the whole piece of glass. It is bizarre and astonishing how fragile the quality of the brand new windshield is.

In the winter of 2021-22, while parallel parking, backing up, then pressing the brake, my Crosstrek spontaneously accelerated in reverse and rammed into the truck already parked behind me. The Crosstrek paused, then rammed again, as I pressed harder on the brake. I put the car into “park” and turned off the engine. I was baffled and had no explanation for what happened. Thank goodness a person wasn’t between my Crosstrek and the truck. More recently, on October 4, 2022, I was at the post office mailbox drop-off. My Crosstrek was stopped with m…

While driving in Alaska during icy conditions my entire display for my infotainment screen changed abruptly. I glanced over at this to see if this was important information as it doesn't usually do thing. Upon looking I realized this was an advertisement for Sirius XM radio free until December 1st. In order to get back to my normal navigation I had to click a small red X on the screen. This entire situation cause me to swerve and slide on the ice and almost go off into a ditch. In-car pop-up advertisements, specifically from SiriusXM. The advertisement pops up while driving, attempting to use the safety features of the car, including navigation. It happens every few months, at random. There is no way to opt-out from the vehicle; the only option is using a desktop computer, creating an account, and finding the communication preferences. This is a dangerous feature, as it causes multiple issues when it happens, including driver safety. They violated FCC rules by making this easy to opt out of; I've never opted in, as I …

Adaptive cruise control did not disengage when brake pedal was pressed. The cars ahead of me on the highway were coming to a stop, so I tried to veer to the right since the brakes didn't work. The lane assist kept fighting me and wouldn't let me veer off to the right. Almost hit the car in front of me. Now the car is undrivable and needs to be towed

My 2024 Subaru Crosstrek was stopped at a red light behind a car. My cruise was disengaged after the car stopped and my foot was on the brake. Suddenly, the car lurched forward on its own and only stopped when I pressed hard on the brake and moved transmission from drive to park.

I recently have started experiencing a sticky/jerky steering wheel (24K miles). It happens when the car is fully warmed up on longer road trips whether the cruise control engaged or not. In fact, it's worse without cruise control. The steering wheel requires stronger pull and then releases quickly. I could not reproduce it at the dealership as it's nearby and does not require a long trip, but of course right after I left it, the steering wheel started sticking again. The technician did not know what it could be and stated he could not reproduce…

There are 2 issues that I have noticed since I bought my car from a subaru dealership 10 DAYS ago. the first is that upon driving at highway speeds (over 50 mph) It feels like the car is jerky and pulls in a shaky rocking manner. this happened continuously, when I was using the cruise control and when I was not using the cruise control. It basically felt like I was driving in 40mph winds that were moving my car independently of what I was doing. The second is also something that happens at highway speeds, my driver side mirror shakes and vibr…

While driving on the [XXX] my car lost power while in drive. I coasted onto the should. I could not get the car out of gear or put the car in park. I chocked the rear tire. I opened the hood. The positive cable had popped off the battery post. I got a piece of paper and created a temporary shim. The car drove home to where i found out on line i needed a battery shim. I purchased the shim at autozone for $6.00 and addressed the problem. I'm glad I did not end up like [XXX] on the LIE. FYI, I replaced my factory battery with a new AGM ba…
