I WAS DRIVING ON 8E FREEWAY AT 55 MPH WHEN I NOTICED THE INTERIOR OF THE MOTORHOME FILLING WITH BLACK SMOKE AND THE SMOKE DETECTOR STARTED GOING OFF. BLACK SMOKE WAS POURING OFF THE BACK OF THE MOTORHOME AS WELL. I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND GOT MY WIFE TWO GRANDKIDS AND TWO DOGS OUT OF THE VEHICLE. UPON EXITING I FOUND THE RIGHT FRONT OF THE VEHICLE ON FIRE AS WELL AS FIRE DRIPPING FROM THE EXHAUST TO THE GROUND. We have been experiencing multiple issues with the electrical system in our RV. There was a serious safety event to took place, where the wiring box under the bed created smoke and we could smell plastic burning. When investigated by my husband, he found that the box under the bed that housed all the wires for the RV had burn marks on the inside of the box and the wires and wire caps had melted. Then we started having issues with the generator not working, and were unable to use the generator. We had to pull the generator and taken it too a gen…

I purchased the motorhome from Fraserway RV in Kamloops, BC. The vehicle was sold to me as a new unused unit in November 2023. While turning into a strip mall parking lot from a small service road, we were travelling at around 5-10 KPH. My wife and I heard a very odd low "thud" type of noise coming from somewhere in the motorhome. We parked in the mall parking lot and began to look for the source of the noise. We were unable to find anything so we assumed perhaps something in a cupboard had shifted. We purchased some groceries and my wife decid…

The splines on the wiper arm connecting to the wiper motor control studs are stripped out on both the passenger and driver sides, rendering the wipers ineffective during rain. When driving at highway speeds, the only course of action is to pull over and wait for the rain to stop. I visited an RV repair facility, a Ford dealership parts department, and a diesel parts business to find a replacement. All three businesses confirmed that the wiper arm is irreparable and needs to be replaced.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
