Recall history

1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

20V339000 · Visibility:Glass, Side/Rear

Reported: 2020-06-09 (June 9, 2020)

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2020-2021 ACE, 2021 Four Winds and 2020 Gemini, Axis, Compass, Delano, Windsport, Hurricane, Outlaw, and Vegas motorhomes. The adhesive bond between the glass and the metal hinge frame of the frameless windows may fail which would then allow the glass to detach and fall out.

Consequence: If the window glass detaches while the vehicle is moving it could become a projectile, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: TMC will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the frameless windows for proper adhesive bond strength, replacing the windows as necessary, free of charge. The recall began July 10, 2020. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000192.

THE ELECTRICAL WIRING WITHIN THE MOTOR COACH IS NOT TO NFPA'S NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE NOR IS IT WIRED TO THOR'S OWN FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS. I purchased the motorhome from Fraserway RV in Kamloops, BC. The vehicle was sold to me as a new unused unit in November 2023. While turning into a strip mall parking lot from a small service road, we were travelling at around 5-10 KPH. We were unable to find anything so we assumed perhaps something in a cupboard had shifted. We purchased some groceries and my wife decid…

The splines on the wiper arm connecting to the wiper motor control studs are stripped out on both the passenger and driver sides, rendering the wipers ineffective during rain. When driving at highway speeds, the only course of action is to pull over and wait for the rain to stop. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
