Owner report 11623246 · 2024-11-02 (November 2, 2024)

Engine seems to stall at acceleration from low speed. Basically, a dead pedal response. For instance, upon slowing down to near stop to enter a roundabout or an unmarked 4 way intersection(yield to enter intersection without stopping) vehicle has noticed throttle lag. Any attempt to accelerate even mildly into the roundabout or intersection results in a dead pedal for a second or two. No response from engine, truck feels like it’s going to die. I’ve been nearly hit multiple times by other vehicles as my vehicle is not moving when it should. …

After stopping at a stop sign I attempted to cross the traffic to enter another lane. When I began to proceed I lost all power to the vehicle. The engine was still running but the accelerator pedal had no effect on the engine. As i was trying to cross the traffic, the vehicles I was trying avoid were now having to brake for me because I was in the middle of the road with no power. There were no warning lights or sounds produced, the vehicle just suddenly started to accelerate again. I currently have an appointment at the dealership. This prob…

At a four way stop, four cars were stopped waiting for a car with right of way to turn left. Car turning left hesitated. I began to accelerate since myself and another car going straight had next right of way. Another car began to enter intersection so I let off the throttle and began to apply brakes for them to clear the intersection. This car also stopped seeing me begin to go so I hit the throttle as the intersection was clear for me. The truck, still rolling did nothing when I applied the throttle. I applied upwards of 50% throttle while th…

Truck Purchased new on 2/8/2024. A couple weeks later at approximately 1700 miles on the odometer the driveline started developing an intermittent shimmy between 40 and 65 MPH. Truck currently has 2026 miles on it. Dealership informed and are saying that this shimmy is as designed and therefore not an issue. Shimmy is progressively getting worse and being that nobody knows why it is happening I do not know if something is in the process of failing and might potentially fail at highway speed. This could potentially cause an accident result…

I previously owned a 2022 Toyota Tundra that had the same fuel gauge malfunction. It was repurchased under the Texas Lemon Law since Toyota was unable to provide a repair after a year and a half. Now I have a 2024 Toyota Tundra with the same malfunction. The fuel gauge on the dashboard will reset to 3/4s to full tank of gas after starting and stay that way until you refuel the truck even though the tank may only have 1/2 tank or close to empty. Have been to the dealership on several occasions with no permanent solution so far. First attempt at fix was to reprogram the combination meter and the gauge did accurately show the full level. I later bought this truck at around 36,000 miles specifically because Toyota stated that the engine problem had been fixed with the short-block replacement. According to Toyota, the 2022-2026 Tundra is compatible with 35x11.5 tires. These tires were installed by the dealer before my purchase. However, during turns, the tires heavily rub against the sway bar. This issue may be specific to the TRD upgrade package, which includes an upgraded, thicker sway bar. I am experiencing premature and uneven tire wear on my 2024 Toyota Tundra, specifically on the outer edges of the front tires. This has occurred despite proper rotation and no off-road use, the tires showed significant edge wear. Multiple alignment checks revealed improper front end camber and Toe settings, which appear to be part of a wider issue affecting many 2022-2024 Tundra's, especially 4WD models. Toyota issued a recall (NHTSA 25V322) over a year ago. We are now more than a year beyond the issuance date of this recall and Stop Sale order for affected vehicles. There is still no remedy available for this recall and from what I can tell, none in sight. Additionally, on 11/6/25, Toyota issued a recall (NHTSA 25V767) related to potential engine failure. Over 6 months after this recall and Stop Sale notice there is no remedy available. Both of these issues go beyond what most would consider remedying the issues in a “timely manner”.

Acceleration pause or lag dead spot from slow like yielding at yield sign or from stop. Not always from stop but consistent from slow rolling from situations like yield sign or merging to traffic. I have encountered several situations where I was afraid I would be hit by another vehicle but lucky enough to make it or the other driver slowed or break. Then when it does go there is a huge jerk like it kicked in and I punched the accelerator. This occurs frequently.

This truck was a 2024 Tundra platinum. I only had the vehicle for 6 weeks and had only driven it for 2000 miles before the truck started sending Low Oil notifications. It threw three of them over the weekend and the dealer I purchased it from was not open and the other local dealers could not get me in. I took the truck to Valvoline to have them check the oil. They recorded the entire process, I have the video evidence of the oil change. At the time of this oil change you can clearly see when they drain the oil in that the truck is low about 4…

Stopped at a stop sign, slightly uphill, turning from a residential street onto a busier road. When I pressed the accelerator, the pickup moved a bit and then hesitated. After pressing the accelerator further, the pickup accelerated suddenly and quickly. This has happened intermittently, multiple times. This is NOT the case of the auto start-stop system not starting quickly enough. The first risk is not being able to smoothly accelerate into traffic and getting hit from behind because of the hesitation. When the vehicle does accelerate, it …

I am the second owner of a 2024 Toyota Tundra that is branded as a manufacturer buyback/lemon. The first owner had the engine short block replaced at around 31,000 miles due to bearing failure. I later bought this truck at around 36,000 miles specifically because Toyota stated that the engine problem had been fixed with the short-block replacement. I relied on that representation and believed I was buying a vehicle whose defect had been properly remedied. Toyota has now issued safety recall 25V767 / 25TA14 (“engine may stall during driving”) f…

Vehicle completely shut off on remote 2 lane country road while traveling. No warning lights were noted or noises observed before the engine failure. Truck power steering failed to operate at optimal due to the engine cutting off. Was hard to get vehicle off into the grass as there were no shoulders to pull off to. Vehicle behind me as coming up a hill when this occurred had to break as well. The vehicle was towed to a dealership and they have confirmed catastrophic engine damage, and found metal in oil pan. This same problem occurred with the …

I am reporting a latent manufacturing defect in my 2024 Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX (Hybrid). This vehicle is equipped with the V35A-FTS engine, which has been officially recalled in non-hybrid Tundra models (NHTSA Recall 25V767) due to internal machining debris that causes catastrophic engine failure. Current Situation: Although my vehicle has not yet experienced a total engine seizure, it contains the exact same engine architecture and manufacturing origin as the recalled units. I am filing this complaint because Toyota has excluded the Hybrid…

2024 limited, Hesitation when pressing accelerator. There will be no power for some time. then a sudden jolt of acceleration. The most memorable moments of this is when trying to turn left into a neighborhood while cross traffic is oncoming, trying to drive but the truck wont go. The indicator “Add or replace oil” comes on even just after being to the dealer to have my 15000 mile service checkup.I have only had oil changes at the dealer. The trucks brand new and costs too damn much to not have the dealer take care of this. Can see blue/gray s…
