Recall history
5 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
16V703000 · Seats
Reported: 2016-09-30 (September 30, 2016)
Halcore Group, Inc. (Halcore) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 American Emergency Vehicle (AEV) Traumahawk ambulances manufactured August 1, 2016, to September 28, 2016. Due to a problem with the seat tracks, the attendant seat(s) on the affected vehicles may unexpectedly move in a rapid deceleration event such as a crash.
Consequence: In the event of a crash, the seat may move forward at a high rate of speed, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant.
Remedy: Halcore will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seat tracks, free of charge. The recall began on October 29, 2016. Owners may contact AEV Warranty/Customer Service Department at 1-800-374-9749, or by email at [email protected].

Halcore Group, Inc. (Halcore) is recalling certain 2016 AEV Traumahawk ambulances manufactured March 20, 2016, to October 28, 2016. The affected vehicles are equipped with Stryker Medical Performance cot mounts that may not securely attach the cot into place.
Consequence: If the cot dislodges from its mount, serious injury may occur to the patient and/or to individuals within the ambulance body.
Remedy: All affected vehicles have been contacted by Stryker, received a remedy kit and the vehicles have been repaired, therefore an owner notification letter will not be issued for this campaign. Owners may contact AEV customer service at 1-800-374-9749.

As such, these bolts fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, "Door locks and door retention components."
Consequence: If the door striker bolts fail under load, the door may open in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: AEV will notify owners, and dealers will replace the striker bolts, free of charge. The recall began on September 15, 2017. Owners may contact AEV customer service at 1-800-374-9749. Halcore's number for this recall is 17E-038.

Consequence: If the battery isolator module overheats there is an increased risk of a fire. Additionally, if the equipment that is connected to the isolator does not work there is an increased risk of injury.
Remedy: Halcore will notify owners and dealers will replace the battery isolator module. The recall began April 9, 2018. Owners may contact Halcore customer service at 1-800-447-0343.

Consequence: The driver may inadvertently turn the wrong direction to avoid an object behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: AEV will notify owners and dealers will add a harness relay capacitor module to prevent the image from reversing, free of charge. The recall began June 11, 2019. Owners may contact ASA customer service at 1-800-384-4400 or Halcore at 1-800-447-0343.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2020: 0 complaints · 2021: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2020 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2021 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2020 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2021 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
