Recall history
3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
95V070000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic
Reported: 1995-04-03 (April 3, 1995)
THE LOWER STEERING COLUMN LINKAGE HEAT SHIELD CAN COME IN CONTACT WITH A BRAKE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM PIPE MOUNTED TO THE ENGINE ASSEMBLY, EVENTUALLY RESULTING IN A HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAK.
Consequence: IF A HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAK OCCURS, WARNING LIGHTS INDICATING LOSS OF FLUID AND LOSS OF SYSTEM PRESSURE WILL BECOME ILLUMINATED. FRONT BRAKE EFFECTIVENESS WILL BE LOST, ALTHOUGH REAR BRAKING WOULD REMAIN UNAFFECTED.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPOSITION THE AFFECTED HYDRAULIC PIPE AND REPLACE ANY DAMAGED PIPE.
NHTSA campaign record ↗95V159000 · Power Train:Automatic Transmission
Reported: 1995-08-17 (August 17, 1995)
AN INCORRECTLY POSITIONED WIRE WITHIN THE ELECTRICALLY OPERATED GEARBOX ACTUATOR CAN CHAFE AGAINST THE COVER CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION SELECTOR FUSE TO BLOW.
Consequence: IF THE FUSE BLOWS, THE DRIVER CANNOT CHANGE GEARS OR PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK. THIS CONDITION CAN DISABLE THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION, INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPOSITION THE AFFECTED WIRE TO PREVENT CONTACT WITH THE GEARBOX ACTUATOR COVER.
NHTSA campaign record ↗97V122000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Foundation Components:Hoses, Lines/Piping, And Fittings
Reported: 1997-08-04 (August 4, 1997)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE BOLTS ATTACHING THE LOWER STEERING COLUMN TO THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING COUPLING CAN CONTACT THE BRAKE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM PIPES LOCATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
Consequence: THIS CONDITION CAN LEAD TO A BRAKE HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAK AND REDUCED BRAKING PERFORMANCE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPOSITION THE PIPES TO PREVENT CONTACT BETWEEN THE PIPES AND BOLTS, AND ANY DAMAGED PIPES WILL BE REPLACED.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2018: 1 complaints · 2023: 1 complaints

| 2018 | 0 | 1 | 1 |

|---|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| 2023 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
