I have owned my 2020 BMW m340iX for 2 years. During that time I have had 5 tires blow out, including 3 in the past 3 months alone. The tires are "run flat" and need to be completely replaced if they develop any issues. The dealer I use for service, who is owned by the manufacturer, says it is simply wear and tear - but this pattern is concerning and a potential safety issue for the car and tires.

The starter in my 2022 BMW M340I sedan was faulty after 54,000 miles. It began to take two attempts to start the vehicle each time and was at risk of not starting. The first attempt all electrical components would turn on but the ignition was unable to start the engine. Then the second attempt was generally successful. I took it to the dealer and had to replace my starter to return the vehicle to normal operation. BMW has recalled tens of thousands of other starters including my model but not yet for the 2022 BMW M340i I was told.

Here’s a strong version that sounds frustrated but still credible and harder to dismiss: I’ve owned many vehicles over the years, and this BMW has been, without question, the most problematic car I’ve ever had. The list of issues has been absurd for a vehicle in this price range and from a brand that markets itself as a premium luxury manufacturer. The sunroof failed, I’ve had multiple tire blowouts under normal driving conditions, the drive bar/suspension was bent from what should have been a routine road bump, the engine oil housing/compone…

Started as low creaking noise coming from front left wheel. Slow speeds, over small bumps. Over time (one month), creaking noises became louder and more frequent. At that time, steering was starting to feel stiff when turning to the left. Taken to 2 BMW dealerships who said it was just a noise and that both tie rods would have to be replaced. Upon further investigation, these noises and handling are a result of the torque being too tight at the factory upon manufacturer.

Oil pump failure, causing inability to read oil level. Also flickering oil light on and off. After some research noticed it was happening to a lot of others as well due to oil pump being made with plastic internals. BMW has since updated to a new pump with metal internal the next year however never recalled old pumps.

Brought my car in for a starter recall picked it up next day and drove home then came out to turn my vehicle on again and it wouldn’t start. Burning smell from engine bay as well. Returned the car they inspected it and told me a faulty starter. When I brought the car in it was in perfect working condition I only brought it for the recall. I was then held accountable for 25% of repair costs.

The starter malfunctioned causing electrical damage to the motor and related components. Although there is literature that exists that this is a potential problem for this vehichle, BMW refuses to fix the problem and is asking me to pay. My warranty is expired by 4 months, but I have only 37,800 miles. The fact that there are 105K vehicles with this potential problem is evidence that this problem exists. They should be paying for what is an obvious manufacturer defect.

The ignition start is not clean and delayed. There is already a recall 25V-644. There is "No remedy available" for this model per inquiry with local BMW dealer in Buffalo NY 14221 made 3 weeks ago. I am fearful of an electrical fire from overheating. I do smell an intermittent burning smell but it may in the outside environment rather than from under my hood.

THE FRONT COLLISION SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK. EARLY WARNING RARELY COMES ON, AND IN A RECENT NEAR CRASH ON THE DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY, IT NEVER CAME ON. EVERY NOW AND THEN, THE EARLY WARNING FRONT COLLISION WARNING WILL COME ON FOR A SECOND, BUT THERE IS NO REASON FOR IT. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (CLASSIC BMW) AND THEY SAID IT IS OPERATING AS NORMAL ,ALTHOUGH TO PROVE IT THEY HAD TO TAILGATE CARS AT 75 MPH TO SIMPLY GET THE EARLY WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE A FEW TIMES. THEY NEVER GOT THE IMMINATE CRASH WARNING TO COME ON. THIS SYSTEM IS UNS…

I am submitting this complaint regarding a potential safety defect involving the engine lubrication system on my 2020 BMW M340i with the B58 engine. The vehicle was purchased used from a single owner with low mileage and comprehensive maintenance records, with no indication of prior engine or lubrication issues. While traveling at highway speed, the vehicle suddenly displayed a low oil pressure warning and simultaneously entered a protective shutdown strategy, resulting in a significant loss of engine power. This forced me to rapidly slow down …

Safety Hazard: Oil Pump Failure Leading to Sudden Engine Stall (BMW B58TU engines) Description of Defect: The oil pump module in the 2020 BMW M340i (G20) and many other models between 2019-2020 contains internal plastic components that are prone to thermal degradation and premature failure. These plastic parts can crack or disintegrate, causing a sudden loss of oil pressure. BMW corrected this in later models with metal parts but failed to issue a recall or the older models containing plastic parts. Safety Risk: A failure of the oil pump lead…
