On Wednesday, September 23, at around 7:00 AM, as I was driving on the northbound 163 Freeway in San Diego, my car suddenly lost power and began gradually limping to a staggering 10 mph speed among all the rest of the cars whizzing by me at 70 mph. The dashboard displayed a message that said “charging incomplete, try another charger” in spite of the fact that my battery was shown to be 80% full. At 10 mph, I could barely control the vehicle to get it more safely toward the shoulder of the road. I immediately activated the in-vehicle SOS syste…

Reported: 2026-09-24 (September 24, 2026)
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2025-2027 Cadillac OPTIQ vehicles. When closed using the key fob's express-up function, the front windows may fail to detect an obstruction and reverse direction. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, "Power-Operated Window Systems."
Consequence: A closing window that does not reverse direction as expected can pinch a passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: The body control module (BCM) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 9, 2026. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N262567230. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 24, 2026.

Hi, For example, Audio would cut completely throughout the vehicle not allowing me to access any sources such as the On star board system in the event of a crash, music sources etc. In addition, when this happens all my safety features turn off on the car along with the screen going blank etc. This continued to happen on multiple occasions including with my kids and family in car on a 1 hour trip to Miami. I immediately one morning after experiencing the issue multiple times on my way to work texted my sales advisor. I made an appoint…

Multiple times over the last four months of leasing this 2026 Cadillac Optiq, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system has malfunctioned and abruptly slammed on the brakes without warning, bringing the car to a sudden stop in the middle of our travel lane. All incidents occurred under similar optimal conditions: clear daylight, sunny skies, a clean windshield, and zero hazards or pedestrians in the road. Neither cruise control nor Super Cruise was engaged during any incident. The vehicle is updated with the latest software version. During…
I one pedal drive and concurrently regenerative breaking is on since November of 2018. Having reversed out of the garage and then closing the garage door and before I reversed on to the street the OptiQ roughly lurched forward while stationary. While slowly entering the home garage to park, the OptiQ performed a forward lurching over a wooden barrier touching the wall (5/31/25). The front grill has indentations. Cavender Cadillac advisor has not returned my call.
On September 16, 2026, at approximately 3:30 PM, I was driving my 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ on a dry road under clear, blue-sky conditions. Cruise control was set at approximately 28 mph. There were no vehicles in front of me or behind me, and there were no apparent roadside objects or other conditions that should have presented a collision hazard. Without warning, the vehicle displayed a "Grab the Wheel" warning. My hands were already on the steering wheel at approximately the 10-and-2 positions. A red collision-alert box was also displayed on the…
I am filing this safety complaint regarding my 2025 Cadillac Optiq with approximately 6,500 miles. On May 25, 2026, during rainy/wet road conditions, the vehicle failed to stop normally on two separate occasions while I was approaching stop signs at low speed. I was driving cautiously and was not speeding due to the rain. During the braking events, the vehicle displayed an “ABS Active” message/indicator, but the vehicle did not decelerate or stop as expected. I had to continue attempting to brake, and the vehicle traveled farther than it shoul…
My 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ experienced two brake-system failures. The second occurred on September 14, 2026. The vehicle displayed brake-system warnings and braking performance was impaired. The vehicle previously received a brake-system-control-module reprogramming in August. The dealer has advised that the master cylinder and brake booster, which are one assembly on this vehicle, may be failing and is consulting Cadillac Engineering. The vehicle is currently at the dealership, and I have been provided a loaner. This incident may relate to NHTSA E…
On Friday August 7th, I was driving my 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ Luxury AWD at approximately 25 mph near Byron road in Tracy. While crossing a railroad track under normal driving conditions, both passenger-side tires, the right-front and right-rear, suddenly lost air and sustained sidewall ruptures. I did not strike a pothole, curb, debris, or any other visible object, and no foreign object or tread puncture was found. Both tires were Continental CrossContact RX, size 245/50 R20 105H XL, tubeless and were the original factory-installed tires. The vehi…
On November 24, 2025, I discovered that multiple connected and safety-related systems on my 2025 Cadillac Optiq had stopped functioning. We believe a GM over-the-air software update was installed the weekend prior, and the dealer has inferred that the update may have caused the failure. We brought the car into the dealership on November 26th. The car was "fixeed" and we picked it up on December 2nd. Before we were able to leave the lot, the telematic system broke again. The dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the telematics mo…

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
No selected model years have a complete observation window. Choose an eligible year or a shorter window.
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
