01V284000 · Equipment:Other:Labels
Reported: 2001-09-06 (September 6, 2001)
CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 120, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS." THESE MOTOR HOMES WERE ERRONEOUSLY ASSIGNED INADEQUATE TIRE INFLATION PRESSURES AND INADEQUATE AXLE WEIGHT RATINGS ON THE FRONT AND/OR REAR AXLES AS A RESULT OF MATHEMATICAL MISCALCULATIONS. THESE MOTOR HOMES HAVE TIRE WEIGHT RATINGS THAT ARE LESS THAN THE FRONT OR REAR AXLE WEIGHT RATINGS (FRONT AXLE WEIGHT RATING:FAWR AND REAR AXLE WEIGHT RATINGS:RAWR) AND IN SOME INSTANCES HAVE INADEQUATE FAWR AND/OR RAWR.
Consequence: AS A CONSEQUENCE, THE TIRES SELECTED FOR THESE MOTOR HOMES DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE STANDARD. IN SOME CASES, THIS NONCOMPLIANCE COULD CAUSE PREMATURE FRONT TIRE TREAD WEAR OR TIRE FAILURE DURING NORMAL DRIVING. THE PREMATURE TIRE TREAD WEAR OR TIRE FAILURE COULD LEAD TO A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REMOVE THE FRONT AND/OR REAR TIRES AND REPLACED. FEDERAL TIRE LABELS WILL ALSO BE REPLACED. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN NOVEMBER 8, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT COUNTRY COACH AT 1-800-452-8015.

Reported: 2007-02-01 (February 1, 2007)
CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR, MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION, MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE BOILER TUBE. PRESSURIZED COOLANT SOLUTION COULD BE RELEASED INTO AN AREA WHERE AN IGNITION SOURCE (GAS FLAME) IS PRESENT.
Consequence: RELEASE OF COOLANT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS COULD IGNITE AND RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy: COUNTRY COACH WILL BE WORKING WITH DOMETIC IN ORDER TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS (PLEASE SEE 06E076). A SECONDARY BURNER HOUSING WILL BE INSTALLED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 28, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DOMETIC/STERICYCLE AT 1-888-446-5157 OR COUNTRY COACH AT 1-800-452-8015.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2007: 1 complaints · 2008: 1 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |

| 2007 | 0 | 1 | 1 |

Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2007 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| 2008 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
