I am filing a safety defect complaint regarding a 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona (400V electric vehicle platform) that suffered a catastrophic high-voltage system shutdown at approximately 1,261 miles. The vehicle had charge remaining and was being prepared for charging when it experienced a forced EV system shutdown and would not restart. The vehicle displayed partial state-of-charge but became completely electrically inoperative.
The contact owns a 2026 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the battery was completely drained. The contact stated that the hood plastic scoop was leaking onto the felt heat protector, and the engine was wet whenever it rained. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, and the battery was replaced. The contact called another dealer, Elmwood Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Service & Parts Center (625 Taunton Ave, East Providence, RI 02914); but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was …
The vehicle has less than 600 miles on the odometer. The passenger side tie rod separated from the steering knuckle while driving causing a sudden and total loss of steering control. Thankfully it was at low speed so the danger was mitigated. The nut holding the tie rod to the steering knuckle is missing. The vehicle was towed to a Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge dealership where it awaits an inspection and repair.

The car started to accelerate on it's own. I had to use the brake to slow down and stop
The contact owns a 2025 Dodge Charger EV. The contact stated that shortly after purchasing the vehicle, the doors and hatch back door failed to open immediately. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed and determined that the door sensors were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. Additionally, while driving into an intersection, the vehicle suddenly shut off with oncoming vehicles approaching. The vehicle was restarted and immediately experienced unintended acceleration and nearly caused a crash wi…

Car is an Electric Vehicle. 3 times now, it has been unable to start (bricking) and requires towing to the nearest dealer. When attempting to start the vehicle, it flashes warnings about pulling over immediately and that the electrical system must be shut down. Should this occur while in motion, the brakes will immediately lock and present a hazard to nearby motorists and the driver. This is the 3rd time this issue has occurred, and dealers are unsure of what the fix could be. Numerous warning lights flashed across the screen each time the …
Drove the car home on July 2nd 2025 and plugged it in. July 3rd unplugged the vehicle got in the car and no start with several different warning lights, Service electric system, service dampening system and vehicle will shut down soon (although it was not even running). Waited about an hour, returned to vehicle and still nothing "no start". Tried again on July 4th and again no start. Call roadside assistance on July 5th and had the vehicle towed on a flatbed to the dealer. Vehicle has been at the dealer since then and its now July 26th. Dealer …
The vehicle will display any number of warnings and then go into limp mode. The vehicle has been to the dealership 3 times to repair these issues but they have not been able to actually fix anything yet. The scariest aspect was the vehicle going into limp mode, but experiencing continued acceleration while not engaging either the accelerator or the brake pedal. There are numerous service bulletins and repair status issued by stellantis, but their dealer body does not know how to fix the cars. I feel like a stop sale should be ordered unti…

I was sitting at an exit from a store waiting to pull out into an intersection. Full foot on the brake, and I know for certain I wasn't accidentally hitting the accelerator because on the first "jump" I checked to make sure. It lurched through the brakes multiple times bucking like a cammed car would. Then threw all these warning lights, turtle icon came up saying speed limited, and the collision lights came on as well as traction control was disabled. Shut off and wouldn't power back on for a few minutes leaving the entire front half of my car…

All at 65 mph. Man… my car’s sensors didnt help at all and my airbags didnt deploy. My sensors never detected the car on the right getting close or that it slammed …
While driving, the car suddenly went into "Turtle Mode" in which the car slowed down by itself and numerous warnings on the dash board suddenly appear including "Service Electrical System". Since I am in the middle of driving on a fairly busy street I attempt to get the car moving again and step on the accelerator pedal. The car does increase in speed but now will not stop speeding up even when I let off the gas pedal. The speed of the vehicle keeps getting faster ON IT'S OWN. I have to step on the brake and keep braking to get the car to…

Vehicle entered sudden limp mode while merging onto freeway, reducing propulsion to ~30 mph and forcing driver to coast along shoulder. Dash displayed warning: “Stop Safely. Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon.” Multiple system faults appeared (regen, traction, collision fault, wrench light, turtle icon). Vehicle displayed uncommanded acceleration – continued driving without pressing throttle. Vehicles behind were forced to brake abruptly. The incident repeated 4 days later. Vehicle currently remains in dealership custody since May 30. Despite multiple …

I am reporting serious and recurring electrical and system failures in my leased 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack EV, leased March 18, 2025. The vehicle has consistently experienced critical malfunctions that pose a threat to driver and public safety. The most dangerous issue is intermittent complete power failure. On at least four occasions, the vehicle failed to start or respond to keyless ignition. I was left stranded for 20–40 minutes in various locations with no access to power, movement, or control of the vehicle. These failures occu…
While driving at highway speeds the vehicle suddenly dropped into "limp mode" causing the vehicle to start slowing down very quickly since I had regeneration breaking set to level 2. Causing the vehicle behind me to almost rear end me but they moved out of the way quick enough that no collision happened. I was able to turn on my hazard lights and roll to safety. After powering off the vehicle, exiting, locking it and later re-entering it was I able to drive it home normally. During this time the airbag error came up and a service electrical s…

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
No selected model years have a complete observation window. Choose an eligible year or a shorter window.
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
