Recall history
2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
24V822000 · Electrical System:Wiring | Electrical System:12v/24v/48v Battery:Cables
Reported: 2024-11-01 (November 1, 2024)
Forest River, Inc (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025 East to West Alta travel trailer vehicles. The inverter may be incorrectly wired to constant "hot" on the second battery, causing the wire to be unprotected from the battery.
Consequence: An unprotected invertor wire increases the risk of fire.
Remedy: Dealers will rewire the inverter to the breaker side of the second battery, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 11, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-264-6664. Forest River's number for this recall is 501-1859.
NHTSA campaign record ↗25V714000 · Equipment:Other:Labels
Reported: 2025-10-21 (October 21, 2025)
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Alta travel trailers. The Federal Placard label may have the incorrect axle capacity listed, causing the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) to have been miscalculated. As such these vehicles fail to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Consequence: Referencing the incorrect GVWR and CCC may allow the vehicle to be overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 19, 2025. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-264-6664. Forest River's number for this recall is 501-1994.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
