Recall history

6 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

16V462000 · Vehicle Speed Control:Accelerator Pedal

Reported: 2016-06-24 (June 24, 2016)

Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Aspire and Aspire TK motorhomes manufactured July 14, 2014, to January 15, 2016. The throttle pedal position sensor on the affected vehicles may not return to zero, causing the engine brake to suddenly not activate as expected, reducing the vehicle's deceleration ability.

Consequence: A sudden loss of an engine brake without warning on a motorhome may lead to a reduced brake capacity potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), manufacturer of the motorhome chassis, has notified owners, and DTNA dealers will replace the throttle pedal, free of charge. The recall began on August 15, 2016. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787 or Daimler Warranty Campaign Department at 1-800-547-0712 or email [email protected].

16V463000 · Service Brakes, Electric

Reported: 2016-06-24 (June 24, 2016)

Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Aspire vehicles manufactured July 14, 2014, to January 15, 2016 and built on Daimler Trucks North America motorhome chassis. On these vehicles, equipped with a heavier, adjustable foot pedal, the brake activation signal to certain towed devices may not deactivate when the motorhome service brakes are released.

Consequence: If the brake activation signal to a towed device remains active when the motorhome chassis service brakes are released, the brakes on a towed device may remain engaged depending on brake configuration of the trailer. Additionally, following drivers may be confused by the motorhome's actions, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Daimler Trucks will notify owners, and their dealers will modify the affected brake assemblies, free of charge. The recall began on June 6, 2016 . Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787 or Daimler Trucks customer service at 1-800-547-0712.

17V695000 · Exterior Lighting

Reported: 2017-11-03 (November 3, 2017)

Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Aspire, Anthem, Cornerstone, and Insignia motorhomes. The vehicles have lights that do not include reflectors and the vehicle does not have separate reflectors. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: Without the required reflectors, the motorhome may be less visible to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Entegra will notify owners, and dealers will install compliant reflectors, free of charge. The recall began on January 2, 2018. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787. Entegra's number for this recall is 9903363.

NHTSA campaign record ↗
18V077000 · Service Brakes, Air:Supply:Reservoir/Tank

Reported: 2018-01-30 (January 30, 2018)

Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Aspire and 2017-2018 Insignia motorhomes built on a Spartan chassis. The air brake supply reservoir is less than 12x the combined volume of air for all service brake chambers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: The undersized air brake supply reservoir may provide an insufficient air supply to properly operate the brakes during repetitive brake applications, reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Entegra will notify owners, and Spartan service centers will replace the current air supply reservoir with one that has twice the capacity, free of charge. The recall began on February 16, 2018. Owners may contact Spartan Chassis at 1-800-543-4277 or Entegra customer service at 1-800-517-9137.

18V181000 · Steering:Hydraulic Power Assist:Hose, Piping, And Connections

Reported: 2018-03-19 (March 19, 2018)

Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2011-2012 and 2015-2016 Aspire built on Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) chassis. The power steering hose on the affected vehicles may be routed incorrectly, and, as a result, the hose may rub against the power stud on the starter motor, possibly causing electrical arcing and a power steering fluid leak.

Consequence: Electrical arcing in the presence of leaking power steering fluid can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Entegra will notify owners, and Freightliner dealers will reroute the power steering hose to provide proper clearance, free of charge. The recall began on May 1, 2018. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-517-9137.

22V891000 · Service Brakes, Air

Reported: 2022-12-02 (December 2, 2022)

Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Aspire and Insignia motorhomes. The service and supply reservoirs have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: The undersized air brake supply reservoir may provide an insufficient air supply to properly operate the brakes during repetitive braking, reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the air reservoir, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 21, 2022. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-283-8267.

DEF tank head failure. 3 codes on dash, engine light and check engine light. NO warning of when a derate would start, or when an engine shutdown may occur. New part supplied by manufacturer had crystilized DEF on it when recieved at service facility. Suspect supplier may be refurbushing older units, and trying to pass them off as new next generation. Unless and until the manufacturers of these DEF systems can come up with a system that works for 100,000 miles and up, the EPA needs to start to relax the rules on the diesel engine emissions.

The Trimark ignition component failed and was subject of a 2020 recall that was not completed by the dealer who sold me this RV. The failed Trimark was returned to Spartan Chassis. ON JULY 6TH, 2018 ABOUT 11:30 AM, I EXPERIENCED A FRONT PASSENGER BLOWOUT ON MY 2016 CLASS A MOTORHOME. MY RV WAS EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR G670 TIRES 295/80R22.5 THAT CAME ON IT AT PURCHASE. TRAVELING EAST ON I-10 JUST BEFORE BAYTOWN, TEXAS. DRIVING AT 62 MPH ON A DRY SUNNY DAY THE TIRE BLEW. NEITHER MY WIFE NOR I WERE INJURED BUT, THE EXPERIENCE WILL LAST A LIFE TIME, THE TIRE SHOWED NO SIGNS OF OUTER DAMAGE AND I ONLY HAD JUST OVER 20K MILES ON THE TIRES. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
