WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE THE CONSUMER FOUND THAT THE REAR RIGHT INSIDE TIRE BLEW OUT AT THE SIDE WALL. *JB THE MECHANIC TOLD THE CONSUMER THAT EITHER THE VEHICLE OVER LOADED OR THE TIRE WAS UNDER INFLATED. THE 2004 MOTOR MAGAZINE STATING THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR MOTOR HOMES BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HOLD UP WELL. THEY RECOMMEND AN ALL STEEL TIRE NOT A TIRE THAT HAS STEEL BELTED TREAD AND A POLYESTER SIDEWALLS LIKE THE ONE THAT THE SIDEWALL BLEW OUT. *SC *JB

HE IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE NUMBER ON THE RECALL LETTER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WOULD BE UNAVAILABLE UNTIL DECEMBER. WHEN HE CALLED AGAIN, HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WOULD BE UNAVAILABLE UNTIL JANUARY OR FEBRUARY OF 2008. AS A RESULT, THERE WERE MULTIPLE LARGE GAPS BETWEEN THE RUBBER MOLDING AND THE FRAMEWORK. AS OF JANUARY 28, 2008, THE DEALER HAD NOT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 76,000. THE ENGINE SIZE WAS UNAVAILABLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 FLEETWOOD BOUNDER RV. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE WINDOWS WERE BECOMING FOGGED ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS OPENED IN ORDER TO USE THE SIDE MIRRORS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THIS THAT ALTHOUGH THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE, THE FAILURE WAS COMMON FOR THE MODEL VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN, BUT THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

THE WOODEN CONVENIENCE TABLE LOCATED IN THE LIVING ROOM AREA OF THE MOTORHOME WAS NOT SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE FLOOR ALLOWING MOVEMENT DURING VEHICLE TRANSIT.
Consequence: THE TABLE COULD ROLL DURING BRAKING OR AS THE VEHICLE MOVES CAUSING INJURY TO A VEHICLE OCCUPANT OR A DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT, AND INSTALL AS NECESSARY, HARDWARE WHICH ATTACHES THE TABLE TO THE MOTORHOME LIVING ROOM AREA FLOOR.
