When shifting into reverse to pull out of my garage, with my foot firmly on the middle of the brake pedal, the truck suddenly accelerated, squealing the tires until I pumped the brake to make it stop. It was a very frightening experience. I drove it around town, including stopping and reversing and could not replicate it. It happened on a cold engine and it hadn’t been driven in three days. I took the truck to the dealership, and they stated they could not see a leak or liquid on the driver's floorboard. The liquid had been wiped off the mat. Approximately 14 days later, after driving just over four hours, the next day I noticed a slippery liquid on the driver’s-side floorboard mat and brake pedal, and I saw where the liquid appeared to be coming from. 1. Transmission. Stays in higher gears at stops. When starting out it barely moves in response to gas pedal increase. At about 3,000 RPMs it engages and jerks violently ahead. After this happened several times I noticed the transmission gear light was in a higher gear at stop, like 7th gear. Therefore the motor had to rev up to 7th gear speed before it would move adequately. Has to be hard on the transmission when this happens, also embarrassing and very dangerous should you have to cross a busy roadway quickly. It also downshifts suddenly all …

I leased this vehicle as new a couple of months ago. The rear view camera was not working. The dealership in West Branch Michigan assured me that they would fix it. Subsequent visits and followup with dealership have been unsuccessful in the fix. During this time I almost ran over my grand daughter when backing up with no rear view camera. Very dangerous. Also any components relying on the rear view camera are also disabled. I beleive Ford has a concern in fixing this problem. It could result in a serious accident with pedistrian.

I’ve seen several other reports on Facebook and online of the same thing happening to other people. This is obvious a dangerous problem that needs to be add…

A piece just above the brake lever has two noticeable …

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
