WHEN DRIVING IN ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL THE VEHICLE WILL AGREESIVELY DECELERATE WHEN PASSING ON THE LEFT SIDE OF A LARGE PROFILE VEHICLE. THE GREATER THE SPEED DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO VEHICLES THE GREATER THE RATE OF DECELERATION. IF THE SPEED DIFFERENCE IS ABOUT 35 MPH OR GREATER THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM WILL ACTIVATE. THIS IS POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS ON A CROWDED INTERSTATE WITH FOLLOWING VEHICLES VERY CLOSE.

9 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

18V894000 · Engine

Reported: 2018-12-18 (December 18, 2018)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Ford F-150 and 2017-2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty, F-350 Super Duty, F-450 Super Duty, and F-550 Super Duty pick-up trucks equipped with an engine block heater. Water and contaminants may get into the block heater cable's splice connector causing corrosion and damage.

Consequence: When the heater is plugged in, prolonged corrosion could cause a resistive short, increasing the risk of overheated or melted wiring which can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will disable the block heater cable, free of charge. Once parts are available, Dealers will replace the engine block heater cable, free of charge. The recall began June 3, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18S45.

Reported: 2019-11-12 (November 12, 2019)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2019-2020 F-150 vehicles. The fastener securing the Power Distribution Box (PDB) 12V cable and Battery Monitoring System (BMS) eyelets to the positive battery terminal may loosen and affect the vehicle's systems such as instrument panel displays and braking or steering assist. This amount of rust/oxidation should not exist in a new vehicle and has the potential to lead to a driving performance/braking incident/accident that could damage the truck and or injure vehicle passengers. On a day trip i experienced transmission issues where my truck attempted to shift from 10th gear to 1st gear on the interstate. After getting off an exit it attempted to shift from 6th to 1st gear going 50mph. Ford knows the CDF drum on the 10r80 transmissions are bad from the factory. They have even revised the part to accommodate for the issue. They refuse to recall this transmission or cover the cost. This could have caused a wreck while traveling on the interstate and endangered my life. I have the 6th to 1st gear shift on video.

My Ford F-150 is a ten-gear truck. For the past several months, my truck gears don't shift, won't stay in gear, and most recently, won't go into gear i.e. I couldn't put my truck in reverse. As I'm driving, I will experience loud bangs and shudders randomly and without warning. My car has 70k miles on it, has not been in an accident, and has been regularly maintained. I took my card to the Ford dealership to address the issue and was told it had to do with a computer issue. Whatever they did has made it worse. I know there is a class-acti…

I am experiencing a serious and potentially dangerous issue with the transmission in my 2019 Ford F-150 Lariat equipped with the 10-speed 10R80 automatic transmission. At highway speeds (65–75 mph), the truck will occasionally downshift abruptly into a much lower gear without any input from the driver. I own a 2019 Ford F-150 with only 94,000 miles on it, barely approaching 100,000, and I’m already experiencing significant transmission issues. The vehicle is equipped with the 10R80 transmission, and the way it shifts gears is extremely concerning. It’s unreasonable for such a critical component to show this level of failure so early. At this rate, it feels as though I’d need to replace the transmission every 94,000 miles, which is simply unacceptable and raises serious concerns about long-term reliability.

At highway speeds (65–75 mph), the truck will occasionally downshift abruptly into a much lower gear without any input from the driver. This causes the engine RPMs to spike and creates a sudden deceleration, which could easily lead to a rear-end collision or loss of control.

The touch sensitive door control for the side passenger door intermittently operates. This creates a hazardous situation when trying to enter the vehicle when parked on the street and the vehicle remains locked. An owner has to retreat, find the key fob and unlock the door remotely. The touch system is erratic and does not give any warning when it malfunctions. Same issue with trying to lock the door but not as hazardous since one is moving away from the vehicle.
