While driving on a mountain pass, my 2021 Mustang Mach-E vehicle lost all regenerative braking which, due to the downhill grade, caused a sudden and shocking increase in speed, played warning chimes, and displayed "Stop Safely Now" and "1-Pedal Drive Fault Press Brake Pedal To Reduce Speed" and lost all drive power, forcing me to coast to a stop on the side of the mountain, in an area without cellular coverage to call for help. Owner report 11430057 · 2021-08-22 (August 22, 2021)

MachE relies on drivers using their phones as a key to get in and drive their vehicle. Ford does this and encourages drivers to not use the key fob, of which they provide only 1, less than the industry standard of 2. The app has a propensity for randomly failing as happened to me today. Could not use the app to get in the vehicle, no amount of rebooting or other phone tests could get me in the vehicle. There is a backup code, but I forgot mine. Luckily I was able to reach my wife and use hers, but that is an unreasonable expectation. …

Completely locked out of car without any access. No way of unlocking car. I tried via key fob, key pad, approach, mobile app. The locks are completely electronic, so no way to mechanically unlock. Had to call a tow truck to tow it to the dealership where I bought it just a couple weeks earlier. 2 days earlier, an OTA update was installed that was labeled as improving battery optimization. This seems to be what triggered the issue. Many owners of 2023 and 2024 Mustang Mach E's are experiencing the same issue.

It is supposed to charge at 7KWh but it drops 3Khw after few minutes charge. I switched to new Ford mobile charge, but it is faulty, too. Ford says its overheating issue but it happens during the winter season, too. I am concerning it might have faulty electric design and cause the fire at home. I checked the Ford Mach-e Forum, many of them have same problems.

There is a repeated front camera fault that prevents the "Pre-Collision Assist" from working, which could lead to a car accident and possible injury/fatality. Today while driving the vehicle I had critical failure while the vehicle was in motion rendering the vehicle unsafe. Car was parked in my home garage and would not start, displaying "Stop safely now." Vehicle appears to have code P0AA1 Hybrid battery positive contactor - circuit stuck closed. Many other Mach-E vechicles are exhibiting this defective part in the high voltage battery system, which appears to be the Battery Electrical Control Module (BECM). Ford appears to be aware of this issue, and, unconfirmed, has stopped production of the Mach-E to canibalize parts to fix vehicles that fail. However, some are less lucky than me and had their car stop dea…

The 12V battery drains to the point the car will not boot or go in gear. It spits about 8 error messages at you but none that say low 12V battery. This has now happened 3 times in the last year. This has left me stranded in the cold hundreds of miles from home one of those times. They are now saying that a high voltage junction box and a battery energy control module is required. After waiting 4 months for parts we will see soon I am hoping. Noted in additional details the first time it happened is referenced. OBD 2 ============1=====…

The High Volt Battery (HVB) would have a fault in charging sporadically. When this happens, the vehicle can't start. All the alerts for safety features come on and says that it's in accessory mode only. It's no longer in my possession for inspection. It was approved for lemon law buy back and is now owned by Ford Motor Company. They've recognized that the 12v battery drains dead when this happens and they were attempting to replace the ECM module, Battery Control Harness, and the HVB junction box to remedy the issue. My safety was put at risk …

on 8/22/2022 received a powertrain malfunction notice by Ford. Since that time on four occasions the vehicle has lost power causing a significant jerking and loud thud. It loses all power. This has happened twice after Blue Cruise has disengaged. Two other times include when the vehicle was placed in drive or reverse. It also caused a lurching motion after it engaged without the foot on the accelerator.

Car purchased new June 2021. In April 2022, I began to get intermittent faults regarding the front camera “Front Camera Fault - Service required” - this would disable cruise control on highways and cause quite a lurch and change in speed. The error message disables cruise control, camera, pre-collision assist, and lane keeping assist. The error message would disappear after a few minutes. By Memorial Day weekend May 2022, the fault was persistent and the error message did not go away. In August 2022, I left the car with my dealer for 3 weeks an…

Having completed the high voltage junction box recall with the Mach-E a week or so before, I was braking in order to complete a left-turn in one-pedal drive mode (therefore lifting my foot off the accelerator causing the vehicle to slow down). I received a notification as I did so that one pedal drive mode had a fault and was deactivated (this appeared on the screen by the steering wheel). This caused the car to lurch forwards, as it shifted from OPD to standard drive mode. Fortunately no cars were ahead of me and I was able to quickly slow the…
