The lighting on the shift lever that shows what mode the transmission is being selected is missing. Apparently Ford stopped installing the lighting that lights the "Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive" in the shifter beginning in 2021. Recall history

5 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

22V451000 · Visibility:Windshield

Reported: 2022-06-24 (June 24, 2022)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 Bronco and Ranger vehicles. The windshield may not have been properly bonded to the vehicle, which could allow it to detach during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 212, "Windshield Mounting."

Consequence: A windshield that separates from a vehicle during a crash can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will remove and reinstall the windshield, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22C12.

Reported: 2022-09-14 (September 14, 2022)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 Explorer and Ranger vehicles equipped with 2.3L engines. The fuel line may be loose due to improper tightening of the fuel line connection.

Consequence: An improperly tightened fuel line connection may result in a fuel leak, increasing the risk of fire.

Remedy: Ford will inspect and replace the fuel line assembly, if needed, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 29, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S60.

23V379000 · Equipment:Other:Labels

Reported: 2023-05-26 (May 26, 2023)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Bronco, 2023 Super Duty F-250, and 2019-2023 Ranger vehicles. The Tire and Loading Information (TREAD) label states the incorrect load carrying capacity, which can result in an overloaded vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Consequence: An overloaded vehicle increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Ford will mail a new TREAD label to install over the existing label, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have the new label installed, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 21, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23C18.

25V442000 · Back Over Prevention:Software

Reported: 2025-06-27 (June 27, 2025)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Transit Connect, 2019-2020 MKZ, MKX, Edge, Continental, F-150, Nautilus, Fusion, 2019-2023 Ranger, Mustang, 2020-2021 EcoSport, Expedition, Navigator, 2020-2022 Escape, F-250 SD, Corsair, 2020-2023 Aviator, Transit, 2020-2024 Explorer, 2021-2024 Bronco Sport, and 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank image, or the image may remain on the display after the backing event has ended.

Consequence: A rearview camera that displays a blank image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle. A rearview image that continues to be displayed after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse may distract the driver. Both of these situations can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the rearview camera software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 4, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S72.

25V685000 · Equipment:Electrical:Engine Block Heater

Reported: 2025-10-10 (October 10, 2025)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016-2019 Lincoln MKC, 2016-2023 Explorer, 2019-2020 Fusion, 2019-2024 Ranger, 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair, Escape, 2021-2024 Bronco, Bronco Sport, and 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles. The engine block heater may crack and develop a coolant leak, causing it to short circuit when the block heater is plugged in.

Consequence: An electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Owners are advised not to plug in their block heater until the vehicle is remedied. Dealers will replace the block heater, free of charge. Owners will also have a alternative option to replace engine block heater element with a threaded blanking plug, and remove the block heater electrical cord. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed December 3, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated September 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25SA4. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on October 15, 2025.

There used to be no sufficient clearance between the drivers knee airbag and the brake pedal. I wear steel toe boots for work and my foot just barely fits between the brake pedal and the airbag box. Several times it’s gotten hung up and I had trouble getting to the brake. In a panic situation the could be disastrous. I’ve checked in other model trucks and there is plenty of clearance.

Driver side rear door constantly shows as ajar and triggers alarm, even when firmly closed. I am unable to lock the truck or the alarm WILL sound and drain my battery because of the left passenger door.

2024 Ford Ranger Trucks made in Michigan between January 4, 2024 to July 15, 2024 do not include the load box reinforcement bracket. Without this bracket installed, if the owner were to place more than 88lbs onto one or both bed side rails the bed could crack, warp, bend, or break. If operators of this vehicle are not aware and do load the bed side rails over 88lbs, this could pose a safety issue to the driver or other drivers on the road around the vehicle. To avoid blocking traffic, I pulled over at a local store and shifted into Park. When I tried to shift back into Drive, the transmission would not engage. Pressing the gas felt like the truck was in Ne…

Several occasions, pulling out into traffic and giving it gas the truck jerks repeatedly and won't go and then we'll kick into normal speed several times driving out of nowhere RPM shoot up truck almost comes to a complete stop in the middle of traffic but no Code is popping up saying there's anything wrong with the vehicle and in order to have Ford looking at it. It's gonna cost $399 since as of now there is no recall on anything for this.
