THE 2017 GMC ACADIA HORN TAKES AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF FORCE TO ENGAGE. THIS HAS BEEN NOTED BY SEVERAL USERS. MY SPOUSE HAD A SEMI TRUCK COME INTO HER LANE A DAY AGO AND COULD NOT GET HORN TO SOUND TO WARN OTHER DRIVER. GMC DEALERSHIP INVESTIGATED AND SAID ITS JUST THE WAY THE ASSEMBLY WORKS IN THIS MODEL. I BELIEVE THIS REPRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT MAKES THE HORN UNUSABLE WHEN YOU NEED IT QUICKLY AND WITHOUT TAKING YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD. GM IS SAYING TO BAD.

The ACADIA 2020 while in slow motion approaching my private condominium parking spot, accelerated autonomously and then slammed into the cement wall. Airbags deployed, no warning of collision, seriously damaged both car and cement wall. No bodily injuries. I researched the possible cause coded P2138 which involves the drive by wire sensors which connect the throttle pedal and the CPU that controls the mechanical throttle gas system. That might be the cause of the autonomous acceleration like explained about the P2138 sensors issues.

As I was driving down Interstate 65 in south Alabama on a drizzling rainy day, the sunroof made a very loud popping noise and then exploded, with shattered glass falling into my SUV. Luckily, I was able to keep my vehicle on the road without swerving and losing control. I closed the sunshade on the sunroof to keep the glass from continuing to fall in and drove home. There was no warning lights nor any indication that something was wrong with the sunroof. When I got home, I called the nearest GMC dealership in Pensacola, Florida to report th…

The car stopped working all of a sudden, I was driving the car with no issues that morning and parked & shut off car to go to my appt. I pushed the start button and it sounded like it wanted to start but it wouldn't and the whole engine shooked. Called GM and car still under warranty had it towed to the nearest GM. They diagnosed it and said it was the fuel injector module that went bad. It's 2021 with only 23800 miles.…

Car was parked overnight in my garage and in the morning it would turn over, but not start. Had to have it towed to my GMC dealer, but had great difficulty moving the car out of the garage because the transmission remains in PARK if the engine is not running. Had this happened on a highway while driving and without a place to safely get off the road ( which HAS happened to others who have made this same complaint to NHTSA), this could have been an extremely hazardous situation for the occupants of the vehicle. The engine will suddenly shut down…

Was driving when the vehicle engine completely lost power. Very dangerous situation in heavy traffic. Had difficulty pulling to the side of the road and ended up blocking traffic. Vehicle needed to be towed and is less than 2 years old with less than 10k miles. Diagnosis is failure of fuel pump control module. I see there is an identical GMC Acadia incident already logged by someone else and the dealer said they have seen this multiple times. After 1 week at dealer, they are unable to secure part for repair and don't know when they will. …

As I was stopped in line behind a car at the ATM, my foot slipped from the brake, I quickly placed it back only to find that I ended up going forward. I quickly moved my foot more to the left for the brake only to end up going forward even faster hitting the car in front of me. I then put my left foot firmly on the brake. Now with both feet on the brake the car is climbing up the car in front of me and not braking. Finally, I put it in park and cut the engine. The whole front end of my car is crushed. Transmission feels like it’s slipping, almost like a jerky shift from any stop, seems like a common issue and should be recalled!

Had vehicles looked at twice and serviced once for the transmission slipping. No issues were found when looked at and light was deleted. Took to another mechanic who drained and refilled transmission. Transmission still slips after service. This happens at acceleration and continues til 3rd gears where it jerks in between gears. Stops while driving continuously, the starts up again if stopped for any reason.
