Owner report 11603614 · 2024-07-21 (July 21, 2024)

2024 brand new Acadia Denali trim with 1k miles was brought in to the dealership because of 'popping' and 'grinding' noise when turning, most loudest when turning to and from the right. It was also very much felt on the steering wheel. Dealer took apart the front right strut assembly and said that it was not 'installed' properly, causing the springs to hit the fender everytime the wheels turned. They inspected it said that nothing needed to be replaced, installed it properly, test drove it and determined that it was fixed. Driving home, I spe…

Left rear tail lamp failed after only 90 miles. It is available for inspection upon request. This tail lamp also contains the left turn signal, so when turning left, the signal flashes faster. The dealership has been notified of the issue and has inspected the issue in question. There were no warning lamps indicating the lamp was not functioning until I turned my left turn signal on. Now, there is a check left tail lamp indicator every time I use my left turn signal. I have been waiting on the replacement part for approximately 6 weeks …

Safety Restraint System Service light alert comes on at start up. I purchased this vehicle july 20th and returned vehicle to dealer for service on sept.5. I was informed the steering wheel air bag and coil are faulty. The repair parts are on back order and would take at least 5-6 months to get. I contacted GM customer service and was told the air bag system should still function according to GM. I have had this vehicle @ 2months, I don't feel comfortable letting my wife drive this vehicle or transporting my grandkids in it.

The automatic braking system activates when there is no danger of collision or impact. During heavy rain, backing out of a parking space, with no hazard activating the emergency braking system near your vehicle, the emergency braking system will activate every 2-3 feet driven- sometimes occurring 6-8 times when trying to back out of space. This is a safety hazard because you’re left sitting in a roadway with no control over vehicle. Your chances of being hit by oncoming traffic, because your vehicle stops itself over and over, is high. YOU GET A FEELING AS IF TRANNY TAKES MORE THAN USUAL TIME TO ENGAGE INTO 3RD GEAR, WHEN ALREADY DISENGAGED FROM 2ND GEAR. THE 2017 GMC ACADIA HORN TAKES AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF FORCE TO ENGAGE. THIS HAS BEEN NOTED BY SEVERAL USERS. MY SPOUSE HAD A SEMI TRUCK COME INTO HER LANE A DAY AGO AND COULD NOT GET HORN TO SOUND TO WARN OTHER DRIVER. GMC DEALERSHIP INVESTIGATED AND SAID ITS JUST THE WAY THE ASSEMBLY WORKS IN THIS MODEL. I BELIEVE THIS REPRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT MAKES THE HORN UNUSABLE WHEN YOU NEED IT QUICKLY AND WITHOUT TAKING YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD. GM IS SAYING TO BAD.

The ACADIA 2020 while in slow motion approaching my private condominium parking spot, accelerated autonomously and then slammed into the cement wall. Airbags deployed, no warning of collision, seriously damaged both car and cement wall. No bodily injuries. I researched the possible cause coded P2138 which involves the drive by wire sensors which connect the throttle pedal and the CPU that controls the mechanical throttle gas system. That might be the cause of the autonomous acceleration like explained about the P2138 sensors issues.

When backing up and nothing behind car abruptly applies brakes no alerts. This has occurred on multiple occasions and is very scary. This started first week of ownership took to the dealer and was told GM is aware of the issue but no repair available at the time. the car is a year old now and problem is still present I have had to disable the braking feature. The backing emergency braking is a safety feature so pedestrians / children don’t get run over.

The vehicle was towed to the nearest GM dealer, where they assessed the vehicle and advised that this is a known issue for 2024 and 2025 GMC Acadias and Traverses. The vehicle failed to move oil and the engine was seized - a significant safety hazard. A…

I was driving and making a left turn at a traffic light when all of a sudden, every light lit up on my dashboard. Then the dashboard turned completely black along with the radio screen. When the dashboard went black, I tried to stop by hitting the brakes to pull over. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor, and I had zero brakes. I was able to coast to a dirt shoulder where the vehicle stopped due to friction and gravity. The brakes never worked to aid in stopping the motion of my vehicle. I had my vehicle towed immediately to the …

I am filing a complaint about my 2024 GMC Acadia AT4, leased brand new from Frank's GMC in August 2024, now with a little over 8,000 miles. The brake pads are worn to 35% life, far below the expected 30,000-70,000 miles, with loud squealing, fluid leakage, and odors. This poses a severe safety risk to my family and others, as compromised brakes could fail. In October 2024, before my 3,000-mile oil change, I reported brake concerns to Frank’s GMC service manager, Javier, who advised waiting. After the November 2024 oil change and tire rotation,…

Within one month of ownership, the vehicle began experiencing serious problems that have continued to worsen. The vehicle currently has approximately 34,000 miles, and the issues have been ongoing from the time of purchase through the present. Since purchasing the vehicle, it has been in the dealership multiple times for the same recurring problems, including but not limited to: * Powertrain issues and loss of power * Reduced acceleration while driving…

I experienced the brakes squeaking on and off for a few weeks this past summer. When at the dealership for an oil change, I was told the brakes pads were still good and the squeaking is common, especially during hot humid weather. Since then, I have lost the brakes twice. Both times, the pedal went all the way to the floor without resistance and after a few seconds, they came back like nothing happened. There was no warning at all. I have also experienced a complete blackout on my dashboard for about 30 minutes without known reason. On a separa…

In the process of taking my daughter to the emergency room I receive a dash notification on my recently purchased 2024 GMC Acadia "car overheating, possible engine failure". My gauges were within normal range and being that I was in an emergency I kept traveling. Leave hospital to head home the error message is gone. The following Monday, January 5th, heading in to work I receive the same error message on my dash "car overheating, possible engine failure". Drove to the nearest mechanic, left my car, and they discover a leak in the upper rad…

We purchased our 2024 Acadia in June 2025. Since we have had the vehicle, it has been in the shop going on 6 times. First the sunroof seal came off, then the antenna cover fell off, the driver side rear panel had to be replaced because it was coming off. Once all this was done then the vehicle started leaking transmission fluid, took it to the dealer to get fixed, once we get it back the coolant starts leaking from the radiator hose, took it in to get repaired, now there is knocking noise coming from the engine/hood. Every time we take it in to…
