AFTER CHECKING TIRES BOTH AXLE SHOCK ABSORBERS ON THE DRIVER SIDE WERE FOUND TO NOT BE ATTACHED TO THE FRAME AND IN USE ONE WAS FREE AND BENT TOWARDS THE TIRE. WE WERE FORTUNATE IN THAT THE BENT SHOCK ABSORBER RESULTING FROM LACK OF RETENTION TO THE VEHICLE FRAME WAS ON THE REAR AXLE AND THE FORWARD MOTION DID NOT CAUSE IT TO DESTROY THE TIRE. THE FRONT AXLE SHOCK ABSORBER WAS ALSO MISSING ITS RETENTION NUT BUT DID NOT BEND . IF THIS HAD HAPPENED THE MOTION WOULD HAVE CAUSED EXPLOSIVE TIRE FAILURE. WHILE OPERATING THE RV UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, I OBSERVED POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT CAP, I.E. THE CAP COMING LOOSE FROM THE MAIN BODY. UPON HAVING IT EXAMINED BY A LOCAL RV DEALER IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FRONT FRAME HAD CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES ON BOTH SIDES. THE LOCAL DEALER STATED THAT DUE TO THE LOCATION AND EXTENT OF THE CRACKS, BEHIND THE SIDE WALLS, THE DAMAGE WAS NOT REPAIRABLE. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
