Owner report 11514885 · 2023-03-31 (March 31, 2023)

Honda Rebel 1100 motorcycle footrest has too much vibration at 55 to 70 miles/ hour speed. thus after an hour or more makes the feet num. When i took it to the honda dealer they said that the engine will vibrate due to balance problem. this is dangerous. Look at youtube and other facebook sites and most of the Rebel 1100 users are complaining about it. This engine has to be balanced asap to reduce the vibration at 55 to 70 miles/hour that is the normal riding speed in USA. I almost fell down when i tried to stop at the stop sign.

Engine stalls at idle or at takeoff (low throttle input) randomly 5 time over 7 weeks, twice caught it in a turn and was able to throttle through. Honda motorcycle is DCT automatic - no manual clutch. may get rear ended, or caught in oncoming traffic when making left or right! Random can't be duplicated I tried for 15 minutes! UNKNOWN Didn't think to look at dash lights to see if traction control intervened and cut power?? However issue may (?) be a result from a left turn from a stop across light road oil strip that caused rear to step ou…

Like most other Honda Rebel CMX 1100 motorcycles, my engine leaks oil. It is coming out where the stator wire goes in. This is fixed by replacing the stator since the wires do not separate. Honda warranty refuses to cover the cost of their failure. There is also a small rubber plug at the bottom of the frame that connects to the motor. This holds the entire motorcycle together. Like most others out there, it is rusted completely inside the frame. I have no way of knowing the extent of the corrosion in my motorcycle frame because the hole is to…

i was riding the motorcycle and the DCT transmission got stuck in 5th gear and would not shift up or down. This is evidently a common issue as i googled dct stuck in gear and all kinds of hits came up. This is very concerning for me as i was riding and could not accelerate or decelerate. I called Honda and they told me that they have never delt with this issue before.

While traveling straight on the interstate (free of debris and potholes) I experienced the death wobble at 75 mph. I was unable to control the bike and entered a curve where I side swiped a concrete barrier. There were only 1,090 miles on the stock tires. No issues with the bike prior to the crash.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison
