Recall history

3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

12V389000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer:Lpg Systems:Lines And Fittings

Reported: 2012-08-08 (August 8, 2012)

Winnebago is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Winnebago and Itasca motor homes. A cutting machine may have scored the copper propane tubing resulting in unknown long-term reliability.

Consequence: If the copper tubing fails, propane can escape leading to a fire or explosion which can result in property damage, personal injury, or death.

Remedy: Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will replace the copper tubing, free of charge. The recall began on September 6, 2012. Owners may contact Winnebago Industries Owner Relations at 1-641-585-6939.

12V559000 · Electrical System:Wiring:Fuses And Circuit Breakers

Reported: 2012-12-03 (December 3, 2012)

Winnebago is recalling certain model year 2009-2013 model Era motorhomes, 2010-2013 Via and Itasca Reyo motorhomes, and 2011-2013 View and Itasca Navion motorhomes; manufactured November 13, 2007, through August 20, 2012. The proper fuses were not installed for the refrigerator circuits.

Consequence: Without the proper fuse, heat can build which could lead to a vehicle fire.

Remedy: Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuses. The recall began on December 21, 2012. Consumers may contact Winnebago Industries owner relations at 1-641-585-6939.

18V532000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer:Lpg Systems:Lines And Fittings

Reported: 2018-08-15 (August 15, 2018)

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) 2012-2013 Winnebago Era, View, and Via motorhomes and Itasca Navion and Reyo motorhomes. The high pressure liquid propane hoses may harden at the crimp fitting, possibly resulting in a propane leak.

Consequence: A propane leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the propane hose, replacing it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began September 17, 2018. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 151.

NOW TWO MONTHS AFTER THE LAST IDENTICAL INCIDENT, ANOTHER WHEEL SPEED CONTROL SENSOR FAILED (REAR AXLE) THAT AFFECTED NOT ONLY CRUISE-CONTROL BUT ALSO DISABLED ABS BRAKES AND STABILITY CONTROL FUNCTIONS DURING A LONG AND RAINY TRIP TO PA. (SEE EARLIER COMPLAINT #11340388) OVER THE PAST FIVE YEARS, THIS IS NOW THE FIFTH WHEEL SPEED SENSOR NEEDING REPLACEMENT AND THIS PARTICULAR INCIDENT REFLECTS THE SECOND TIME FOR THE VERY SAME UNIT THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED YEARS AGO ON THE SAME SIDE. ODI 11541379

I took my RV for the airbag recall to Ron Carter Dodge in Alvin, Texas. They repaired driver and passenger side airbags. When I left the SRS light was on and the tech told me he couldn’t get it to go off. Turns out the passenger airbag was never properly plugged in so it would not have worked in a collision. The service department let me leave with an improperly installed airbag.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
