Recall history
6 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
05V008000 · Electrical System:12v/24v/48v Battery:Cables
Reported: 2005-01-12 (January 12, 2005)
ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES THE BATTERY CABLE MAY HAVE BEEN ROUTED TOO CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD.
Consequence: THIS COULD CAUSE THE CABLE TO MELT, CREATING AN ELECTRICAL SHORT, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REROUTE AND/OR REPLACE THE BATTERY CABLE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 28, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT JAYCO AT 574-825-5861.
NHTSA campaign record ↗05V556000 · Trailer Hitches
Reported: 2005-12-16 (December 16, 2005)
ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES, THE HITCH RECEIVER MAY HAVE MISSING REINFORCING PLATES. WHEN A LOAD IS APPLIED TO THE HITCH, IT MAY BECOME PARTIALLY DETACHED FROM THE FRAME IF THESE PLATES ARE MISSING.
Consequence: THIS CONDITION, IF NOT ADDRESSED, COULD RESULT IN A CRASH, PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE REINFORCING PLATES WITH NEW HARDWARE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 10, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT JAYCO AT 1-800-283-8267.
NHTSA campaign record ↗06V082000 · Engine And Engine Cooling
Reported: 2006-03-28 (March 28, 2006)
ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON FORD E-SERIES CHASSIS, THE AIR FILTER ELEMENT MATERIAL PROCESS RESULTED IN AN AIR FILTER PAPER ELEMENT THAT CAN SMOLDER OR BURN. THIS CHANGE IN FILTER PAPER COMPOSITION, COMBINED WITH THE CONFIGURATION OF THE AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM, MAY ALLOW HOT CARBON PARTICLES TO CONTACT THE AIR FILTER ELEMENT DURING CERTAIN DRIVING CONDITIONS THAT CREATE HOT PARTICLES.
Consequence: THESE HOT PARTICLES MAY IGNITE THE AIR FILTER ELEMENT WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM DAMAGE OR UNDERHOOD FIRE.
Remedy: FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS CONDUCTING THE OWNER NOTIFICATION AND REMEDY FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE AIR FILTER ELEMENT. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673 OR JAYCO AT 1-800-283-8267.
NHTSA campaign record ↗06V095000 · Electrical System:Wiring
Reported: 2006-03-31 (March 31, 2006)
CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON FORD CHASSIS MAY EXPERIENCE STALLING WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING AND MAY OR MAY NOT RESTART.
Consequence: SHOULD THE ENGINE STALL, A VEHICLE CRASH COULD OCCUR.
Remedy: FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS CONDUCTING THE OWNER NOTIFICATION AND REMEDY FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. DEALERS WILL UPGRADE THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULE (FICM) WIRE HARNESS OR REPLACED, AND/OR HAVE A NEW INJECTION CONTROL PRESSURE (ICP)) SENSOR CONNECTOR INSTALLED FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673 OR JAYCO AT 1-800-283-8267.
NHTSA campaign record ↗06V109000 · Equipment:Other:Labels
Reported: 2006-04-10 (April 10, 2006)
CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON FORD E-450 CHASSIS, AND EQUIPPED WITH LT225/75R16E TIRES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 120, 'TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS.' THE TIRE PRESSURE IS INCORRECTLY LISTED ON THE LABEL FOR THE REAR TIRES.
Consequence: AT THE INCORRECTLY STATED PRESSURE, THE REAR TIRES ARE UNABLE TO SUPPORT THE GROSS AXLE WEIGHT RATING (GAWR) FOR THE REAR AXLE.
Remedy: OWNERS WILL BE MAILED SUPPLEMENTARY TIRE LABELS CONTAINING THE CORRECT REAR TIRE INFLATION INFORMATION. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673 OR JAYCO AT 1-800-283-8267 .

Reported: 2017-11-21 (November 21, 2017)
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V746-9524.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Jayco will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2005: 0 complaints · 2006: 0 complaints

| 2005 | 0 | 0 | 0 |

Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2005 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2006 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
