Recall history

3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

16V568000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer

Reported: 2016-08-01 (August 1, 2016)

Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain model year 2013-2017 Redhawk motorhomes manufactured August 1, 2012, to June 24, 2016. The affected vehicles are equipped with shower curtains that may not adequately resist catching fire in the presence of an ignition source. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 302, "Flammability of Interior Materials."

Consequence: A flammable shower curtain may further fuel a fire, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Jayco has notified owners, and dealers will replace the shower curtains with curtains made with fire retardant, free of charge. The recall began August 11, 2016. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9903318.

17V746000 · Equipment

Reported: 2017-11-21 (November 21, 2017)

Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V746-9524.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf

Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: Jayco will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.

Reported: 2018-08-27 (August 27, 2018)

Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Jayco Redhawk motorhomes built on Chevrolet Van chassis. Liquid may leak into the driver's power window switch and cause corrosion, resulting in high electrical resistance.

Consequence: High electrical resistance can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and GM dealers will replace the driver side door window switch, free of charge. The recall began on August 27, 2018. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782.

I was driving slowly looking for an open gas station on a highwsy in Va. i attempted to make a left hand turn when i heard a snapping sound. I then had a complete loss of power steering and braking capacity. I started rolling across the highway mashing the brakes and finally put my Ebrake on stopping my RV. There were not any lights lit up on the dashboard before or after this incident. If i was going 70 down a busy highway, the outcome of this incident would be much different. My children would be planning my funeral today.

We received the two recall notice letters from Ford Motor Company, 20V795 & 22V089, for our 2021 Jayco Redhawk class C RV. Upon receiving the first recall notice, 20V795, an appointment was made with our local Ford Dealer, Spradley Ford Lincoln Mercury, in Pueblo, CO, on Oct 1, 2021 to have it inspected and recall taken care of. Upon arrival that morning, was told they did not have the parts, would have to order them & their technician just called in "sick". Appointment was rescheduled once they had the recall parts in for Nov 15, 2021, agai…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
