The gas gauge has not worked since bought new in August 2024. This bike has been in dealers for months on end, half the time I've owned it. It is a lemon if that applies to motorcycles. I would like KTM to buy it back.
While driving the motorcycle at random times the engine stops running and looses power. The motorcycle has been looked at by a dealer multiple times and found no issues. The motorcycle screen goes blank and reboots. That is when it looses power. The screen when it reboots flashes a red bar at bottom of screen that first says TC failure, then changes to ECU failure. The Engine warning light is displayed as well as the TC warning light. Sometimes it stays running other times it shuts off. This problem has been going on for several months e…

ENGINE QUIT WHILE RIDING ON A STATE HIGHWAY, NEARLY CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL, NEARLY REAR-ENDED FROM REARWARD TRAFFIC, AND LOSS OF CONTROL WHILE LEANING BIKE DURING NORMAL CORNERING. SERIOUS ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE FROM TIME MOTORCYCLE WAS NEW, PUTTING OIL ON REAR TIRE. PLUS DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP IN ENGINE CAUSED ENGINE TO UNEXPECTEDLY STOP RUNNING.
While commuting by highway to my place of work - motorcycle surged and "Low engine oil pressure" warning came on display. Immediately shut off motorcycle and attempted to maneuver the bike to a safe place to stop while avoiding traffic. Upon investigation, visually found low engine oil level, but no oil leaks present anywhere. Refilled oil to correct level on sight-glass, and attempted to restart engine, but engine presented with serious knock and "bad" sounds. Immediately shut down engine and trailered motorcycle to authorized service center.

THIS MOTORCYCLE HAS A PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED TO RECOGNIZE THE KEY ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS RENDERING THE MOTORCYCLE INOPERABLE. THE MOTORCYCLE HAD TO BE TOWED IN ON ALL 3 OCCASIONS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD POSSESSION OF THE MOTORCYCLE FOR MORE THAN TWO MONTHS TRYING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM WHEN RESEARCHED ON GOOGLE AND FORUMS.

The front brakes of the machine are inconsistent in how much lever effort is required to get the bike to stop. At slow speed, there is sometimes not braking force when pulling the brake lever. At slow speed, there is sometimes a tremendous amount of braking force when pulling the lever. At high speeds, the brakes are often good and work as expected. At high speeds, sometimes the brakes don't work and require you to release the brake lever and pull the lever again. The vehicle is available for inspection. My safety and the safety of others are…

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
