Engine light came on and my LinolnWAy app told me to not drive over 45 mph because my car may start having smoke come out. I took the car to the dealership and was told that I needed a new engine because the coolant has leaked over . I was told that my car was the 5th Lincoln that came in and needed a new engine. A new engine was installed and I was told that i had just made the warranty otherwise it would have been a $9000 fix. I was without a car for a week and a half.

My engine kept misfiring upon starting and not accelerating while I was driving it. A coolant leak into the cylinder caused the engine to malfunction. I had to replace the entire engine block which cost over $7,000.00. The Ford repairman & service center told me that Ford had issued a service bulletin regarding this issue but then refused to pay for the engine damage. I only have 70K miles on the Lincoln.

My 2016 Lincoln MKC with a 2.0L EcoBoost engine experienced coolant intrusion into cylinder 3, leading to engine misfire and check engine light to turn on. The dealership confirmed the issue for $176.55 and recommended a full long block engine replacement, estimated at over $11,000. This failure occurred at 98,000 miles. Two weeks before this, the check engine light illuminated and we took it to a repair shop where we paid $628 to repair the purge valve and fuel pressure sensor, while it was most likely this coolant intrusion both times! Two years waiting for recall repair (rear-backup camera). Lincoln Mfg notified that a pending recall/repair for driver's rear-camera was required. As of 08/14/2026 the repair has not been performed by Lincoln Mfg or it's agents. Rear-camera fails to work consistanly and is a danger to pedestrians. Local dealerships (Sedano Lincoln, Arron Ford , and Pacific beach Ford) have failed to repair the known camera issue upon inspection. My only recourse is contract an independent technician to make the vehicle safe to operate.

THE ENGINE STARTED STALLING WHEN CRANKING UP IN A PARKED POSITION, AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS, BUT LATELY IT ALSO STALLS JUST WHEN CRANKING UP IN A PARKED POSITION. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.

OCCASIONAL VERY HARD SHIFTING AT LOW SPEEDS, AROUND 25-30 MPH WHILE LIGHTLY PRESSING ON THE GAS. FEELS/SOUNDS LIKE VEHICLE BEING HIT FROM BEHIND. DEALER CAN NEVER DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.

WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COAST THE VEHICLE JERKS AND BANGS INTO GEAR. AT TIMES IT FEELS LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS HIT FROM BEHIND. THIS HAPPENS ANYTIME WHETHER ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. FORD FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THIS CONCERN BUT SAID IT WAS WITHIN THE PARAMETER OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT HAPPENS AT LOW SPEED. I FIND THIS A NOT ACCEPTABLE ANSWER FOR A FAULTY TRANSMISSION.

WHEN VEHICLE IS SLOWED (EVEN SLIGHTLY) BY DEACCELERATING OR SPED UP BY ACCELERATING THE SHIFTING SUDDENING AND HARSHLY GRABS AND LURCHES EFFECTING VEHICLE STABILITY. THE IMPACT IS VERY PRONOUNCED AND AUDIBLY LOUD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO LUNGED FORWARD AS SHIFTING OCCURS WHEN BRAKING JUST PRIOR TO COMING TO A FULL STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE DATES.

In 2019 I bought a used 2016 Lincoln MKC Reserve 2.0 Ecoboost Engine w 34K miles. In 4 years I've driven 11,400K miles. A few weeks ago my vehicle would not start. I had a tow to a Ford Retailer because the Service Tech at a Lincoln Retailer informed me they were backed up having 10 vehicles waiting to replace failed Ecoboost engines all with coolant leaks most likely I would need the same. After the $400 diagnostics I was told that I needed a new engine! Unlike the Lincoln Tech, Fords would not discuss anything about all the news, recalls or …

Two things are a problem: 1) When adaptive or regular cruise control is set to a particular speed (any speed) and the increase speed (+) button is pressed once or pushed and held, the vehicle increases speed and does not stop unless cruise control is turned off or the brake pedal is pressed. 2) There are multiple problems associated with the SYNC system (maps no longer work, Bluetooth connection is spotty, delays when turning on and off the radio, system stays on after leaving the vehicle).
