6 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
18V543000 · Trailer Hitches:Fifth Wheel Assembly
Reported: 2018-08-16 (August 16, 2018)
Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2019 Mack Anthem trucks equipped with Jost fifth wheel couplings. The fifth wheel may have an outboard slider bracket that is too narrow, possibly allowing the trailer to separate from the tractor.
Consequence: If the trailer separates from the tractor, it can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Mack will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fifth wheel slider bracket, replacing it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began September 25, 2018. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0411.

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2019 Mack Anthem (AN), Granite (GR), and Pinnacle (PI) vehicles. The pinch bolt on the upper steering shaft may not have been tightened, possibly resulting in the steering shaft separating and causing a loss of steering.
Consequence: A loss of steering can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Mack will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles for any loose pinch bolts, correcting the vehicles as necessary, free of charge. The recall began November 30, 2018. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0413.

NHTSA campaign record ↗19V107000 · Service Brakes, Air:Supply:Reservoir/Tank
Reported: 2019-02-21 (February 21, 2019)
Mack Trucks Inc. (Mack) is recalling one 2014 Pinnacle (CXU) vehicle and certain 2018-2019 Mack Anthem (AN) vehicles equipped with air brake supply tanks that have an air volume amount ranging from 70% to 96% of the amount required by the regulation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
Consequence: The undersized air brake supply reservoir may provide an insufficient air supply to properly operate the brakes during repetitive brake applications, reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Mack will notify owners and dealers will add an air tank to the affected vehicles, free of charge. The recall began April 10, 2019. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0417.

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Anthem (AN), Granite (GR/GU), and Pinnacle (CHU/CXU/PI) vehicles equipped with "camelback" rear suspension and electronic stability control. The vehicles may not stay in their lane at certain speeds. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 136, "Electronic Stability Control Systems on Heavy Vehicles."
Consequence: A vehicle that drifts out of its lane increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Mack will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the vehicle control units, free of charge. The recall began on April 21, 2021. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0423.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
