I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAG RELEASE MECHANISM; OF MY CAR A 2005 MERCEDES BENZ C55 AMG, IS DEFECTIVE. I WAS INVOLVED IN 2 ACCIDENTS, 1ST A RIGHT FRONTAL WITH SEVERE DAMAGE NEEDING $26,000 IN REPAIRS, AND THE 2ND A LEFT FRONTAL THAT CAUSED SO MUCH DAMAGE THAT MY INSURER MAY TOTAL THE VEHICLE. THE 2ND ACCIDENT CAUSED MULTIPLE FRACTURES IN MY NECK VERTEBRAE AND COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL OR LEFT ME QUADRIPLEGIC BUT DUE TO MULTIPLE NEUROSURGERIES BY THE EXPERT IN THE FIELD, I SURVIVED. IN NEITHER ACCIDENT DID THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY AND I AM STRONGL…
VEHICLE EXHIBITING SAME CHARACTERISTICS OF FUEL LEAK FROM GAS TANK AS OTHER VEHICLE MODELS INVOLVED IN NHTSA INVESTIGATION EA13-003. STRONG FUEL ODOR ORIGINATING FROM LEFT REAR SECTION OF THE VEHICLE BEHIND LEFT REAR WHEEL AFTER FILL-UP. ONLY OCCURS AFTER FILL-UP WITH FUEL TANK OF GAS. THE NHTSA INVESTIGATION EA13-003 NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE MY MODEL VEHICLE, C55 AMG.
I PURCHASED A SECOND 2005 AMG C55 AND ONCE AGAIN, EXPERIENCED FUEL LEAKING AT TOP OF FUEL SENDING UNIT. THIS IS IDENTICAL TO THE ISSUE FOUND IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER : EA13003. EA13003 SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO 2005 & 2006 C55 AMG'S THE PROBLEM IS VERY DANGEROUS AS GASOLINE POOLS AT THE TOP OF THE SENDING UNIT AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK. SAID POOLING IS BENEATH THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2001-2011 vehicles. The bonding between the glass panel and the sliding roof frame may deteriorate, possibly resulting in the glass panel detaching from the vehicle. Consequence: A detached glass panel can separate from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the glass panel bonding and replace the sliding roof, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began July 10, 2020. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2020040011.

VERY STRONG FUEL ODOR INSIDE CABIN OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. ODOR IS VERY STRONG AROUND DRIVERS REAR WHEEL AND FROM THE OUTSIDE ONCE PARKED. ALSO NOTICED GASOLINE/FUEL ACCUMULATION UNDERNEATH VEHICLE AROUND DRIVER'S SIDE REAR, ON UNDER BODY PANELS. SMELL OF FUEL IS VERY STRONG AT TIMES WHILE DRIVING BUT SEEMS TO DISSIPATE WHEN DRIVING AT A FASTER SPEED I.E. ON HIGHWAY OVER 45MPH. ONCE I COME TO A STOP OR DRIVE BELOW 45MPH THE SMELL IS PRONOUNCED PROBABLY BECAUSE IT ISN'T BEING BLOWN AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. DOES NOT CHANGE IN CO…

SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE NOISE AND DIFFICULTY STEERING RETURNED WHEN IN MOTION AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. CHECK STEERING FLUID RESERVOIR AND IT WAS BELOW THE MINIMUM FILL REQUIREMENT. Solid line: filed complaints. Dashed amber lines: recall announcement dates for this vehicle selection; markers include all recall components. The latest month is partial. Temporal proximity does not establish causation.
Monthly counts, recall campaigns and complaint examples
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
