The rear differential failed, causing both rear axles to be broken and the vehicle to lose all propulsion on a city road. A noise in the drivetrain under acceleration was first reported to a dealership in Nov 2023 about five months prior to the failure, but the report was dismissed as tire slippage and not addressed further. Then the failure occured in April 2024, and the vehicle was towed to a dealership and repaired out of warranty at great expense. There were no warning lights or symptoms immediately prior to the failure.

On 5/15/2021, I was driving in Phoenix, AZ at about 35-40mph and heard a large bang. Was not sure what happened. Struck nothing. It was dark. The next morning I came out and noticed that the glass panel in front of my panoramic sun roof had completely shattered with a long horizontal fissure. I went to the nearest dealership and was told he has seen this happen before. I asked if it was safe to drive 4.5hrs back to my home city, Las Vegas. He said yes. When I got back I called my MB service representative, described what happened and he said th…

My brother was driving his car on the highway and out of no where the sunroof literally exploded causing the glass to shatter on him and the front panel to detach from the vehicle. Swinging and hanging on the side of the car causing dents, scratches, and chips making this a safety hazard. Thank god my brother was able to safely merge over to the emergency lane without causing any accidents my brother was shocked with glass raining down on him when this happened but he wasn’t injured glad no one was injured in this incident because anything coul…

IT HAPPENED TWO TIMES THE PAST 20 DAYS. CAR ENGINE STOPPED SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING. FIRST TIME AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 20 MPH, SECOND TIME ON HIGHT WAY ABOUT 70 MPH. IT WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS THE SECOND TIME BECAUSE I WAS RIGHT AT THE PORT GETTING ONTO THE HIGH WAY AND I FOUND THE ENGINE WENT OFF. NO RESPONSE WHILE PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DOWN. I DID NOT HAVE TIME CHECK WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BECAUSE TWO OTHER VEHICLES AT BACK ALMOST CRASH ON ME. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGH WAY ENTRANCE IMMEDIATELY AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE (I…

The car was parked on my driveway, As soon as i started it, I got a message 'The electronic rear axle differential lock is inoperative' NHTSA previously issued a recall for 2017 C63s AMG models. I purchased this vehicle from Carvana in April 2021 with clean single owner carfax. The manufacture warranty has expired. I have seen lots of posts on Mercedes forum talking about this issue where Mercedes did fix the issue free of cost. Since there is no open recall on my vehicle, I am not sure what to do.

THIS CAR IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH ENOUGH PROTECTION FOR THE FRONT RADIATORS TO PREVENT DAMAGE FROM DEBRIS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR 2017 AND UP VEHICLES. THE RADIATOR SEEMS TO BE VERY FRAGILE DUE TO THE DESIGN AND THERE HAVE BEEN MANY REPORTS OF THE ISSUE, BUT CLAIMS ARE DENIED DUE TO BEING 'ROAD DEBRIS' BUT MERCEDES-BENZ FAILS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE CLASSES OF THEIR CARS. MY CAR HAS 27K MILES AND IS JUST OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THE RADIATOR IS LEAKING IN MULTIPLE PLACES.

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FUEL LEAK - FUEL STARTED TO LEAK FROM THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK, INSIDE THE CAR FROM UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE REAR PASSENGER SEAT. The contact owns a 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63. The contact stated while attempting to refuel the vehicle, the fuel tank door would not open unless the excessive force was used. The failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank door failure was a known manufacturing failure. The fuel tank door was replaced by the dealer on several occasions but the failure recurred. The vehicle was temporarily repaired with wiring to prevent the fuel tank door from closing. I have a 2018 Mercedes Benz c63 amg which I purchased new in 2018. I have only 61,230 miles yesterday 11/10/2025 it started making a loud noise coming from the right rear. I drove to the Mercedes dealership in Belmont,Ca the technician mechanic told me that the rear differential was bad and need to be replace. Cost $7,000. I don't understand only 61,230 miles why did it go out so soon I always had the maintenance done. My warranty has expired. I did some research and found that there was a recall for 2018 Mercedes Benz c63 amg related to the re…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
